If you are African American stay far away from this campus. The faculty, students that attend and the staff are racist. They have perfected the art of covert prejudice. They assume that everyone of color lives in the City of Detroit. The teachers imply that you somehow cannot do they work and they do not expect much out of you because you are black. While I am not one to scream prejudice they make it obvious that you are not wanted at the campus. Campus security if there is a dispute between an African American student and a Caucasian student they automatically assume that the Caucasian student is the injured party. I have even had to walk through the gym to get to my class and encountered an Auburn Hills Police officer in there and he looked at me as if I was something stuck to the bottom of his shoe. While the campus is very beautiful sadly the Jim Crow attitudes of much of the faculty and student body makes the campus appear cold and ugly. While I have encountered some really great instructors they are however few and far in between. I should not have to prove my worth. I should be allowed the same freedom as every other student to come to school for instruction without feeling like the campus will be sterilized when I leave. I will not attend this campus again. I will not attend any Oakland Community College Campus.

I mean what can you really expect given that its a community college. However, truth be told I am kind of disappointed. The professors are either disrespectful and lazy. Or not very good at teaching their students. The course programs are a cake-walk and if you even remotely pay attention you will pass any class with flying colors. I study barely 2 hours a week and I'm in the top 10% of all my classes. I actually hold back to keep class interesting because if I do go all out I could finish the assignments of most of these classes within a good 2 weeks.

The social life sucks the girls here are pathetic. They are either so full of themselves and shallow. Unapproachable, ugly, vastly obese or just plain boring. The girls who are even remotely attractive which are few and far between are usually fresh out of high school and so biased and full of themselves their not even worth bothering. I mean after all the classes I have had and girls I have approached here it was a total myriad of fatties, uglies, or the average girl who is so full of herself she isn't even worth approaching. Social life here is wack you may find a few good drinking buddies but the quality of females is VERY low at OCC despite the average hottie.

The teachers in this university are also very uninspiring. If you get any teacher that is adjunct facility good chance they probably don't give a damn. As they only get paid about 10,000 dollars a year to teach a couple classes. So you can expect them to treat you indifferently or be completely disrespectful. One thing I have noticed with the teachers here so far is that they forget that were actually their bosses and its due to our tuition payments that give them a classroom to even teach in. They try to parent and baby you if you choose to leave early they put you on the spot or call you out and treat you like a child. Its pathetic some don't do this however the few that even do this at all should be embarrassed at this gross unprofessional-ism.

In all honesty I hate it here. Im only here to get some easy cheap credits and transfer to a four year university. But to be down right honest with all of you most of the Michigan schools are a joke. The only ones worth even attending and I have toured and done through research on all of them. Is U of M, Michigan State, U of D Mercy, and maybe Madonna university. The rest are all about the same, crap. The good ones are the most expensive but due to the economy go where you can afford. In finality, if you go to OCC just pay attention and get your 2 years of credits and transfer over to a real higher education school. OCC is comparable to high school academically and politically. Don't expect to meet a real girl or expect to really learn anything. If you get all A's don't be surprised.
