Quite Bright
I attended SAU for a year and left the first chance I got because in my experience, many of the students and staff were so closeminded and judgemental, I found living there miserable. The campus and student body is very similar to a high school atmosphere -- lots of rules and cliques and not many people around. It is a very conservative school, so if you have differing beliefs than the majority of the population there, be prepared to be ostracized as a "rebel." While some of the people are wonderful, kind, and fun, others are very judgemental and bully-like, all using religion as an excuse to put others down.

As far as the academics go, I had a very mixed experience. Some classes and professors were fantastic (Dr. Darling for psych. 100 was amazing). Others did not teach well or taught irrelevent things and gave a lot of busy work. Overall, it's probably like any other college with hit-or-miss courses. The nearest "city" is Jackson and there are not many things to do. This is a good school for some who are conservative in their beliefs and are looking for a tight-knit community, but for others seeking diversity and independence, this is not your best option.

This school greatly depends on your personality. I do not advise going here unless you are a truly devoted Christian. The students and staff will accept you if your not religious, but socially, you may find yourself behind the 8 ball. Also it is very cliquey and in some ways it is like high school all over again. On a more positive note, the relationships and personal attention you can get from faculty is incredible, you will learn a lot. Most people are pretty polite and will smile at you and even hold doors open for you, which is an attitude that doesn't go away. Also the campus is very great looking and small, so your classes are only a 2-5 minute walk away. However, I repeat, if you not a strong Christian or if you want to party occasionally, DO NOT COME HERE!!! Otherwise it's a pretty good place.

Not so bright
I was so excited to start and finish my course. I begged for help in statistics and received none. The teacher was arrogant and condescending. Business was not my desire but I wanted to get a degree and move on. I could not get any help and the Dean of Online courses told me to go back to my old school. I failed the statistics course although I received all A's besides this class. The online courses are very intense. I am not sure how many continued to work full time and stay caught up with the program. I watched as month after month students dropped out. I became one of them after the statistics course. Although I tried to get help and answers from within I could not. Most of the teachers were very caring and helpful. It is the administration and the help I did not receive that gave me a poor opinion of the school. I am a christian and I was excited to attend a christian school :(.
