 | Quite Bright | | I wouldn't advise anybody to go here except as a last resort. Some professors are friendly, but the math teachers are notoriously bad (watch out for Tierman, guys). I would say that a regular student could manage the school okay, but athletes beware: some of the programs here are ridiculous. If you're thinking of coming here on an athletic scholarship, GET OUT NOW. Go somewhere else. Some coaches are sadistic, some are perverted, and most just don't have a clue what they're doing. SVSU teams do not genereally succeed. From a social standpoint, it's highschool all over again. If you're a jock you will be popular and have friends here, but a lot of them are shallow and won't make you feel very good about yourself. If you come here, you will have to be patient and wait to find the people with whom you can really connect. I'm not saying you can't be happy here, but you could certainly be happier somewhere else. One last word of advice: stay away from the RFOC as much as possible. Dreadful food. | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Faculty Accessibility: F | | | |

| | Bright | Overall SVSU is a pretty good school. The thing about SVSU is it's small. I didn't come to SVSU to party get drunk and go out every night so I feel pretty good here. The police force is everywhere and you have to go off campus to drink. I choose SVSU because it is a school where my main focus will be my education. Yes, there may not be crazy all night parties but I can stay focused. The food is sub-par the staff at the food place are TERRIBLE nothing is ever stocked and I have to walk across the cafeteria to get forks because they never keep up with the dishes. A lot of the time the food staff is lazy and hardly tries to make a decent meal. The classes are reletivaly challenging and I enjoy going to class. Overall I would say SVSU is a good school to go to , stay focused, and get your job done. | Perceived Campus Safety: A, Social Life: D- | | | |

| | Bright | This is the worst school on the planet! I'm going into year 6 and i have a problem with at least on department every year since day one. No one ever knows what's going on. You can ask 4 different people the same question and u get 4 different answers. The Math program is horrible...most of the professors don't even speak english. The Academic Advising office sux!!! They act like you're wasting their time trying to figure out your future. There's not enough parking, so students are forced to park where they are suppose to only to come out of class and find a $20 parking ticket on their window. Student Finacial Services employees are snooty! They don't give a shit about you. I've had the worst experience of my life here. Infact, my parents told my younger brother and sister they were not even to pick up an application for this school...bcuz no one care about you as a person or student, just about their paycheck! If i got the chance to do it all over again...definitly would not go here. | Education Quality: A, Individual Value: F | | | |
