UMich is a great school with highly ratedQuite BrightPsychology
UMich is a great school with highly rated programs across the board. Ann Arbor is both beautiful and urban, a great mix of the two, and there's always something going on, be it on the diag or on Main St. UMich students ARE arrogant, but they have a right to be, and aren't as arrogant as everyone likes to peg them. Classes are tough, but if you study and don't overwhelm yourself, you should be able to get by. I definitely love UMich and I'm glad I chose to come here.

The school has lived up to my dreamsQuite BrightEngineering Department
The school has lived up to my dreams of it. I knew from the very beginning that this school would challenge me to my limits. The classes are hard as they should be but not impossible by any means! They is so much help available to you for any class that you may be struggling in that it is improbable to use them all. As for the college life part of it, Ann Arbor is an amazing town that has so much happening in it that you should never be bored if you just look around and go explore the city itself. There is a place for everyone at this university you just have to know that it won't come to you, actually on second thought it may with all the advertising of the thousands of clubs it may actually fall right in front of your face one day. Don't be intimidated in the least of the size of Michigan for that only means that you may never exhaust all the possibilities it has to offer.

After graduating from Michigan with a BSE inMechanical Engineering
After graduating from Michigan with a BSE in Mechanical Engineering, I went on to earn a Master's degree in engineering MIT and later at Stanford, when I moved for my job to California. And I will tell everybody I know, Michigan was by far the hardest school. I don't know if Master's degree programs are easier in general, but compared to Michigan, Stanford was a breeze.

The tough engineering curriculum has prepared me very well for my current job as a management consultant, although I don't actually apply the knowledge I learned in engineering, it's the thought process and thought training that provided me with the foundation to do anything I wanted. There's no hand holding, but if you need someone to talk to, everybody will love to talk to you. People can get very competitive, but you must learn how to deal with different people, the mechanical engineering curriculum was very hands-on and team oriented, so you will learn quickly.
