DO NOT GO TO WESTERN. A lot of white trash. Sorority and fraternity people are dirty and gross, not the accomplished people you would expect. Every girl at western does not know what a real pair of pants is. You will find no girl or guy who showered or did their hair before class. There is no art, fashion, beauty or inspiration on this barren old campus. On a side note, if you're a total loser and decide to go to western, do not live in hoejke. Boring unfriendly ra's. the ra's pretend to be friendly when they want something but they're a bunch of nerds who have nothing better to do with their time. And if you plan on just eating dinner in peace, be prepared to be surrounded by tables of horridly loud ghetto folk and even better, trashy rednecks whose general appearance will ruin your eyesight. The advisors are unhelpful. Most students here should still be in diapers as they are not adult enough to have jobs, wear real pants, do their hair or chew with their mout closed. Western, boo you whore!

It's impossible to take advantage of all that WMU has, but definitely try. From study abroad to athletics, there is something for everyone. That said, if you spend more time alone in your room than out and engaged with the community, you will have a horrible time.

I am from Illinois because I did not want to stay there. I think WMU is a great school! Yes, it can be cliquey and that is why I left my other small private school. However, if you put yourself out there you will find the friends that you have fun and click with. Besides that everyone is friendly and willing to talk to you. I love my department and have made a great choice. Unlike other state schools, especially in Illinois, they don't treat transfer students with much care. They don't help like WMU has. I came here and they treated me like they wanted me, solidifying my choice. I am a marketing major and they whole business school is made to get real world experience and to make sure a job is in your future, not just to give you a degree.
Faculty Accessibility: A+, Campus Aesthetics: B
