Super Brilliant
I graduated from this school last year and I can tell you my experience was very negative. Don't make me wrong, I had some good professors who were good and dedicated but most of the university is corrupt and totally incompetent and you don't want to be part of their mess........Good luck

Super Brilliant
I am a former Capella employee, now on the faculty of a major traditional university and we would NEVER even consider hiring a Capella PhD grad. The school has the reputation, well deserved, of being a diploma mill. They allow academic dishonesty, plagiarism, and fraud. Some learners were great, but the majority are a joke, at least academically. Apparently they have never, or only very rarely, failed a learner on their comprehensive exams.

The reason -- because they want the money to be had dragging them out through their dissertation and then failing them there, if needed.

They are both lawsuit adverse and cash flow focused. No moral center whatsoever. But decisions can be understood best by: "What brings us the most cash here" and "How can we avoid any lawsuits or negative publicity from upset learners."

Quite Bright
I have been very unhappy with what I have been hearing about my alma mater in the last five years. The Psychology Department is going down the tubes, probably due to not getting accredited with APA. I would not recommend Capella University to anyone right now. They take your financial aid, may disenroll you for no reason during your last class before graduation. You would then have about $60,000 to $150,000 of student loans to pay back with nothing to show for it. They don't care about the students. There is no due process or grievance policies followed through, students have no say or voice in what happens to them.

Capella is a money mill for the executives that take huge bonuses every year, and a bad marketing scheme. Stay away, run away as fast as you can. And this post is not Jeff LaMarca. There are many others, in fact a growing group, Capella Watchdogs, that are not going to let them get away with these practices any more.
