The U has great extracurriculars, especially if you live in the res. halls. If you want to feel part of the community, you should definitely get involved. Otherwise, the U can seem big and cold.

The "U" is a decent place to attend school. Good daily newspaper. Small Greek Community, which cuts back on some of the fun around campus. Decent house parties for the freshmen folk...mild drug usage around campus, pretty run of the mill, I am sure. Decent bars. Less than a $7 cab ride downtown. The bus is always an option, too.

The city of Minneapolis is a great place to live but I did not feel at home while attending the U. There is very little to do on campus besides gong to house parties. There are so many people that it is hard to meet others with common interests and create friendships. I felt like a number.
