Walden University's Ph.D. prgrams will work in your favor over time. The Walden Ph.D. will not immediately attract employers. But, as you acquire additional professional experiences, certifications, and/or licenses in your fieled, your Ph.D will become an awesome enhancement. The Walden Ph.D. has a significantly positive effect on the resume of professionals who have achieved alot or plan to achieve alot. Acquire the degree from Walden, if you plan to become or are already an interesting person with an interesting background to begin with.

I recently completed my MS in Education (Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction). My previous degrees were in English (Cal Poly SLO), Secondary Teaching Credential(CPSU), and Special Education (SJSU). I attended using Walden's "Face to Face" program, with a colleague at the High School where I teach. I found the experience extremely positive, especially compared with my experience getting my teaching credential. The video lectures featured real teachers and were informed by best practices. The online instructures were helpful. The assignments were rigorous, yet broad enough to apply to my students and classes. The portfolio was difficult, but worth while. Not a day goes by that I don't use knowledge I learned from the program. This is a great program for working teachers! My only complaint is that it was expensive.

I am almost finished with my doctoral program at Walden and have to say that overall it has been a good experience. Many people like myself, with full time jobs and life demands, could never pursue higher education if we were limited to traveling to and from a regular institution. So many traditional universities are now offering several courses online, if not full degree programs. Being among the first to tap into technology at the accredited graduate school level, does not make Walden a diploma mill, nor make the degrees awarded useless. Over my 30 year business career I have graduated with two other graduate degrees from brick and mortar schools - Walden is easily comparable with a traditional university.
