Horrible school. If your from a small mid-western town, and are coming right out of high school, you may actually be duped into thinking that the professors are half way scholarly. Unfortunately that describes about half of the restorationists students at the school. They mask their real theological beliefs on their website. Instead of saying we are restorationists, we believe if you aren't baptized in our church with the belief that the baptism is required for salvation at the time you were baptized, then you are going to hell. This is what they believe! The professors could use elementry lessons in logic and hermenutics. It's not just pentacostals who get persecuted here, it's anyone outside of their particular branch of the restoration movement. Even if you are a DOC restorationist instead of COC or CC restorationist you will be condemmed to hell. It's not really tuition free as they claim, while it is cheap, they have just moved the costs other places. In a town where you can get a 2 bedroom apt with a full kitchen for $300 month, you can live well for 2,000 a semester. They throw 3 people into small dorm rooms built for 2, serve the lowest quality food I've ever seen in my life, and have the gall to charge over 2,500 a semester for it, and won't let you live off campus unless you are 25 or married. Their are virtually no student facilities. When I first came to CCCB my jaw literally dropped because I have never seen so many unhealthy obese people in my life. I understand it's hard for some people, but the percent of obese people at CCCB must be at least 75%. I could say so much more, but let me sum it up by saying don't go to this school.

I came to Central to gain increased knowledge of God's word and also to grow in my relationship with Christ. This school has done nothing but hinder me from those goals. As fellow believers you would think that we could get along even if we didn't have the exact same docturnal beliefs, but that is just not the case. Instead of focusing on our relationships with Christ, or reaching out to the lost, they closemindedly focus only on their docturnal beliefs. It is so legalistic and often I found that they placed God in a box so small that there was no room for Him to do anything. I'm sorry but my God is bigger than that. Being at Central has also hurt my relationship with God. Partly this is my own choice, but I was so turned off by all the controversy and legalism and unchristlike attitudes that I wanted nothing to do with "christians." It has taken a lot of work and repentance to get back to where I was before attending Central. In my opinion if you want to be discouraged, depressed, empty, and diappointed then Central is the place for you.

I came here looking forward to expanding my Biblical knowledge and gain a deep understanding of the Bible. All that has been taught is the doctrine of the Christian (the denomination) church. The teachings are bogus and also they seem to think that you are not saved unless you are a part of the Christian (denomination) church. I grew up in a Pentacostal church and the teachings are so far from Biblical it is scary. Misinterpretations of some of the simplest passages of Scripture is abundant. For example please read a passage from one of the textbooks for one of the entry level courses that is required to be taken by all students. (Taken from Union in Truth by James B North pg 363-364)
"Should a church of the Restoration Movement (Christian Church) participate with other churches (Methodist, Nazarene, Presbyterian, Baptist, Church of God, Roman Catholic, etc.) in such activities as community Good Friday services, VBS programs, Billy Graham crusades?"(etc I will not list all that is listed in the book)
Skipping just a bit talking about What should the Christian Church minister do?
Here is their answer--"One is to affirm that such groups have failed to follow the teachings of Scripture, or at least they have added other teaching to the Bible and therefore have comprromised the integrity of biblical teaching. As a result, such people ought not to be identified as Christians, and we can have no fellowship with them in things religious. We can do nothing in common with them in the name of worship or specifically religious activity. They are outside the bounds of the Bible, and therefore outside the bounds of Christian unity. To be faithful to the ideals of the Restoration Movement we must stand apart as Christians only."
Why not just tell me that I am going to hell because that is what they think. They seem to think that they are the only ones going to heaven. I have been so upset and unpleased by the teaching that goes on. They place a high authority on Acts and basically they treat it as the Gospel of Acts and treat Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John as just history and that the teachings of Christ are not for us but the apostles. For a movement that has been trying to unite all believers in Christian love--they seem to be missing the most important part and that is the Christian Love (love is not a Spiritual Gift, but fruit of the Spirit which we all should have is we claim to be Christ like.) All in all I have to keep up a strong guard at all times because they push to convert all to their beliefs. Beware be very careful!

I came here because I wanted to grow in my faith and learn more about the Bible. Unfortunately, that is far from encouraged here. This school has one overarching goal: convert any students who come here and aren't a part of their little "movement." Since coming here, I have been harrassed, belittled, mocked, and insulted on a regular basis. It was just assumed from the get-go that since I'm not from their denomination, I'm (a) going to Hell, (b) incapable of truly understanding the Bible.
