I was lucky and got out of KCAIBrightIndustrial Design
I was lucky and got out of KCAI after 3 semesters, I was majoring in Industrial Design and dreaming of being a product designer, After the Dean, who was also head of the ID department gave a speach about a recent graduate getting a top job as a designer in the worlds largest toilet seat manufacture I was out of there. Wound up going to LSU the cost was 5 times cheaper, the professors were great, student life was very good. Was on the Dean's list every semester. Finally I check a website that listed any successful artist or person that had any type of relation to KCAI and found that they have very few people that went on with any success as a artist. Walt Disney only attended a sketch clup there on weekends, Thomas Hart Benton was a guest artist they they fired after 2 years due to his opinion on homosexuals. Most graduates go on to work in food service or construction. Better to go to your local State College than attend KCAI.

Question
Your questions do not allow for us whoIndustrial Design
Your questions do not allow for us who are retired & had a major career change but still benefited by our college experience. I ended up as a senior maritime historian & underwater archaeologist & Curator & Head of Dept. in a major state museum in Australia. My background in the real world of 14 years as an professional Industrial Designer was of tremendous benefit. In retirement, I still use it in my research, interpretation, & writing about historic ships, their construction & equipment, & their artifacts, for publication. Perhaps an unlikely career path, but one that worked well. By the way, I'm not 'unemployed', I'm retired and fully employed doing what I love. Another news flash, I'm 66 & doing a PhD.
