Better than average educational experience. The food was acceptable, the social scene was good and Jeff
City is okay as well.

The experience at Lincoln U was better than average. I received a B.S. degree from the school of business administration which helped me land a job with a major aerospace firm. I worked for the same firm for the past 35 years. In addition, I received two graduate degrees from nationally well-known universities. This univesity is not academically equivalent to a Harvard or the University of Michigan. However, it absolutely covered the academic fundamentals needed to propel a serious minded student into either the medical, business or teaching profession. My ACT score was not highest but with hard work I was able graduate and was accepted into graduate school.

I transfered to Lincoln thinking since it was a university the quality of education would be better. Considering I came from a community college and I was wrong. Almost everybody working at Lincoln is lazy. They sit around and do nothing most of the time until they have to do something. They hide out in other departments or out of the way hiding spots. They act like you work for them and you're an annoyance when you try to get anything done. The records office lost my transcripts. When it came time to take classes that required prerequisites they canceled my preregistration class schedule without even notifying me of the problem. This was their fault to begin with. I had been attending the University for a few years already and it took them that long to transfer my credits. I ran into other problems with my enrollment and they don't send you an e-mail or anything they just cancel your schedule. I had to enroll over and over for one semester on a few occasions. Some of the offices that I went to have students working in them. They see you come in the door ask you to have a seat or totally ignore you and continue talking on the phone for a few minutes to someone and the call had nothing to do with the university ie."gossip or what you doing tonight". Students bring their kids with them to class. They'll leave them in the hallway with another student and they're running around screaming or crying disturbing your class by banging on the door. I had to put up with this a whole semester during a couple of my classes and most of the people thought it was so cute and the teacher didn't care. Student's bring their sick kids with them to class and I'm thinking our you trying to get all of sick. If your not sick your probably going to get sick in one of the computer labs they don't clean them OIT doesn't want janitors around the computers and the students who work for OIT don't clean them either. You could use one of the computers during the summer and catch something from last winter. I've heard the CDC said this school was an hot spot. One of the math teachers brought her kid to school for a week or so, he walking up and down the halls blowing one of wooden train whistles. Black mold is growing in various classrooms from roof leaks and plumbing leaks. Once they fix the plumbing leak I've noticed they don't even put the tile back in and if they do they don't replace it, brown stains here and there. Paint is peeling off the walls in some classrooms. The school is dirty very poorly cleaned. You'll get on an elevator and they'll be trash bags sitting in it. Students totally disrupt classes on a daily basis. Students are driving by the buildings with their pounding stereo systems shaking the windows on your class room. Students speeding through campus not even yielding to pedestrians like they are about to hit you. I've seen a couple high speed pursuits on campus one where a suv was running from public safety blowing through a four way. Public safety doesn't do hardly anything besides harass you and write parking tickets. Some of the student public safety employee's cruise around like gangsters with their seats tilted back and one hand on the steering wheel. If your a visitor and you pull up to the main building you probably won't find a parking space to park you're car to enroll because students and staff have used all visitor parking spaces all day long. Some of my teachers cuss in class and talk about things that shouldn't be talked about. I've had some bring up religious beliefs of what's right or wrong in gods eyes. A lot of the teachers don't even really know how to teach they expect you to teach yourself. I've had teachers say I don't care if you pass or fail my class if you don't understand you need to drop the class and this is during the first week. Part of Lincoln's mission is to provide a nurturing environment I've only had a few good teachers at this school. Very few care about the student. Unless you're really hard up for a school this Historic Black University isn't for everyone. I seen countless numbers of student's get screwed over by academic advisers, staff, faculty, student's. Watch out for those recruiter's that come to state trying to suck you athletes into this place by making promises they can't keep. By the time you give up your chance to go to another school and pack up and leave home to go here you've fallen into the trap and your miles away from home so unless you come from a plush family your up the creek without a paddle. Trust me I've know what good a institution is and what quality education is and this isn't it. I could go on and on about this place and I have very few good things to say about it.
Most of the teachers are washed or couldn't make the cut
at another institution just buying their time till retirement. A lot of the staff graduated from here to.
