SLU is honestly a waste of money.BrightFinance
SLU is honestly a waste of money. You can get the same or a better education at Mizzou for a much lower price. SLU lacks diversity in the sense that more than half of the student body is full of annoying Chicago kids. Greek life here is a complete joke and we don't have any houses. There aren't any good parties here so your best bet is spending money at the bar. Faculty and staff could care less about you and more about their paychecks. SLU panders too much to social justice, which is ok but I came here for a degree that will help me advance, not to get lectured on feminism and white privilege. If you're looking for a traditional college experience, a good school that cares about helping students succeed, and is reasonable priced for how well the programs are, this is not the place for you. I highly recommend future college students to look elsewhere because SLU is extremely overpriced for what it's worth. I'm glad to say that I'm transferring after this semester.

Question
SLU is a good school.Quite BrightFinance
SLU is a good school. The social scene is either excellent or bad depending on wither you are involved in greek life. If you are in a fraternity or sorority you will have the time of your life at SLU. There are constantly parties throughout the week as well as bar parties that are rented out by greek organizations, which you are bussed to downtown. It is crucial to have a fake here because the bar scene is so huge, but it is not difficult to get one. If you do not go greek however you will not have a good time, or at least have a much harder time doing so. Many people transfer because of this. This opinion does not just come from those in greek life. Several of my friends that did not go greek told me this and many are transferring to places such as Madison or the U of I. Overall it is awesome to be in the city. There is always something to do and a different bar to go to. Lacledes, Humphreys, and Chuys are directly across the street from campus and you can expect to see many people you know throughout the week. As a whole SLU is what you make of it.

Question
SLU gave me a good education and developedMeteorology
SLU gave me a good education and developed me as a person aware of what life in the world is like outside the protection of an all-white, Catholic high school. Do NOT try to plan your whole life based on a school's name or reputation or on the major you choose. Learn as much as you can in as many disciplines as possible (SLU is great in that aspect). Get involved in volunteer work, socialize with people outside your comfort zone, travel, network, study abroad for a year, have fun!
