Teachers here are nice and respectful, and students mostly are friendly. I enjoyed the experience of studying in this program really. However, the school's administration is not so good. Some school officials who are supposed to be helpful aren't really doing good jobs, and they don't care. The resource is meager, especially for international students.

This University is a great place to be. Right now, there are many efforts being implemented to help UMKC progress. The administration in place is friendly, helpful and very, very committed to making this University better and better with each term. It is also placed in a great part of the city near the Plaza and Westport areas in Kansas City. Although in the past the campus has struggled to throw an identity out to prospective students and the public in Kansas City, steps seem to be in place that are going to strengthen UMKC's ability to reach out. The campus life is also taking huge steps to build an identity and establish an enthusiasm behind the identitiy of it's students. I would recommend it to any student serious about studying but also wanting to experiece life in the city.

Education

In the composition department, I had great experiences until recently. The department is growing too fast and the number of faculty is not. I don't get as much attention as I used to.

Social life is really not exciting here because the way campus is set up. Most people just come to the campus for classes and leave right afterwards.
Party? What party?

I don't make enough friends that will stay here long enough. That's one of the reasons I am leaving for somewhere else. Financial aid tends to be distributed among students but everyone gets just a little. I had to work 3 jobs to pay the bills.

But! I must say teachers here are friendly and qualified. They promote themselves and students both very much. It seemed everyone's always busy.
