Well...the faculty are friendly are very helpful, the students in general are friendly and fun to be with, the campus is absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere is nice and peaceful. However, the food is okay, the internet is slow, and outside the campus events, there is not much to do. The work is okay...some is hard, but I would say it is probably easier than some schools. The surrounding atmosphere is not safe, so it is good to have a buddy with you off-campus. But I think this is a great school, but you definitely have to be a certain type to like being here. So check it out!

There were a variety of circumstances that steered me to go to Belhaven. Most of the other students at my high school (of my academic caliber) went to "name" schools or large state universities with more resources.

I was a little uncomfortable with the idea of going to Belhaven before I attended, because the orientation more or less makes the school out to be a bunch of religious pod-people (sort of its market, you see).

The reality is, however, a bunch of peopel serious about their faith. Most are well-intentioned and usually conservative. The school pulls no punches about integrating Christian faith into the academic focus. Therein lies sorts of the decision about whether or not you really want to come to Belhaven or not.

Although business is the largest major, the arts and athletics dominate the social landscape, making for a rather fascinating dichotomy, although occasionally there is overlap.I have found Belhaven's academics to be up to par, especially within the English department (although I'm actually a creative writing major). I originally majored in history, which also had good teachers but I didn't feel my fellow students to be as vibrant there.
