Not so bright
You think once you get your son out of high school the military recruiters will be a thing of the past. Not at MSU. Seems they come to campus often. My son finished 1st semester with 5 A's and 1 B. Yeah really good, right? Well next thing you know we are getting a call that he has joined the Marines. Seems the recruiters were on campus and now his college dreams are a thing of the past (atleast for the next many years). What the heck are those people thinking? His father and I did't spend thousands of dollars to send him to an out-of-state college to have him join the military. An honor student in high school, honor student in college and poof all that is now gone. I appreciate that he wants to serve his country like his father and brother but what the heck? I didn't spend many of thousands of $'s to send him to college so a recruiter could whisk him away. If you want to send your child to MSU, I suggest you rethink that decision.

Bright
The Architecture program is terrible. They are racist and will not listen to there students when there is a problem. You have some professors that will lie to get their way to make you look bad. And there is this one professors name Rachel McCann who is very self absorbed and hates it when a student stands up for their self.

Quite Bright
The quality of education that I experienced at Mississippi State University, particularly in my field of architecture, was very good. Having such a diverse, devoted and accomplished faculty really helped to motivate me a great deal. The most important thing about any college education is you get out of it what you put into it.

When comparing the education I received at MSU to that of my fellow colleagues who attended other schools, I feel that in most instances I was more prepared for my field coming out of college than they were. That has really given me a leg up and has allowed me to advance more quickly than most in my profession. My recommendation to current students is to not let the chance at a good education go to waste, or take a back seat to things that are far less important. College parties may be fun and a limited opportunity, but they fall by the wayside in comparison to having a successful career that makes the rest of your adult life more enjoyable.
