My school has EXCELLENT night life, social life, and other fun things to do everyday of the week. The campus looks great, the women look great. We have arguably the best greek life in the nation, and we have the best tailgating in the nation. However, the little things suck ass. Like parking, there is a huge shortage of parking on campus. Plus, Construction, throughout my whole freshman year they started construction on my dorm. They were supposed to be done at the end of the first semester, but it will not be done until the end of the year. They are supposed to not start until 9 o'clock in the morning, but they usually start around 7. And the work they do is NOT quiet. I've heard sledge hammers banging on the wall right outside my window, drills, bricks falling continuously, and machines running. Plainly put, CONSTRUCTION SUCKS!!!!

To the guy from the north who wrote the review about not being able to meet girls. I am from the north too and no the students do not wear cargo shorts down here, but to be quite honest if you are wearing cargo shorts at Ole Miss girls wont talk to you. suck it up and buy some khakis. Not being socially accepted has lead to a biased review of Ole Miss. change schools.

I fell in love with Ole Miss because the campus is beautiful, and the academic programs are supposed to be very good. I had applied and gotten into other more competitive schools and chose Ole Miss over them because when I visited everyone seemed friendly and it seemed like the perfect school for me.

However, what they DON'T tell you when you look at the school is the complete lack of social activities and student organizations. They tell you that there are over 200 orgs, but what they don't say is that the majority of those are greek life or pre-professional orgs. Every weekend I find myself sitting in my dorm room because most peopl are out partying... I am completely bored out of my mind and quite frustrated because I know that this is not what college is supposed to be like.

ADVICE to future students:

If you are not into partying or greek life, you may want to reconsider coming here unless you'll be perfectly happy sitting in your dorm room all weekend. As I said, the majority of the people here go out on the weekends to the bars (they have a bus system that takes students to and from the bars!) and participate in greek life... if you are lookin for a school that has great academics and a great social life/student orgs, this is NOT the school for you.

I'm seriously considering transfering out after this year. I'm misrable here because I'm sick of sitting around with nothing to do.
