Often heard in Missoula, ? I wish that Missoula hadn't changed. This used to be such a nice community. It?s the Californians and those foreign exchange students.? If anything the students here express worse xenophobia. One male student said in a group, ?We don't like people from California or Washington state....like you,? he addressed the blond girl from Washington. About a decade ago Jon Krakauer wrote a book, Missoula, about the lackadaisical attitude by the university, the town and the judicial system towards sexual assault and rape at the University of Montana. Least some think this is just another decades old story, the university rehired the current football coach who allowed his athletes to sow violence among the student body!

The administration and bureaucracy is unbelievably unfriendly. The staff can turn the easiest request into a lesson in condescension or runaround. The ROTC presence is outsized in the university and the wrong kind of military attitude is present, think Ft Hood type leadership. The classes are competent , the students are competent, but there is NO encouragement of creativity or kind ethical leadership. The students all look the same: tall broad shouldered white boys and rather ordinary white girls. There's nary a Native American on campus despite the signature Native American building front and center staffed with a few professors. The American Indians keep their heads down . The white students either ignore others, or avert their gaze or act indifferently.

Question
I am a first year freshmen.Quite Bright
I am a first year freshmen. I chose this school because it was pretty and in an area surrounded by nature. I should've searched other schools better. Your gaurunteed to get into this school but don't expect the teachers to be helpful. Also expect to go into the Financial Aid Office and Admissions CONSTANTLY because they can't seem to get anything right.

Question
I would steer clear of their online programs,BrightArt & Design Department
I would steer clear of their online programs, the online degrees are a joke, specifically the Media Arts degree. You will be taught tutorials on software that is 5 years old and is not relevant to the software you are required to use. On top of that if you have a question about an assignment or you are having a software issue, your instructor will ask if you can come into their office. Considering it's an online program and I'm halfway across the country, no I can not come into your office. Then they will drop correspondence from there and offer no help! You will also realize you are not being taught by the University, 80% of what you will learn is what the instructor has copy and pasted from youtube and if you have questions regarding it, they will point you towards google and, you guessed it, youtube! The only reason I'm finishing my final year here is because I saved for 8 years to finish my degree and put my way through school and if I chose to switch a school now I'd be way in the hole. One more year of suffereing through other peoples youtube vidoes and unfair grades because the instructors could care less about their online students!
