U of Montana was one of 3 Universities I have attended and by far the best. The combination of professional factilty and staff, great social environment, and great campus/outdoor environment cound not be beat.
For a relatively large school my professors were aware of me and my performance from my freshman year on. The faculty was strong and is pulled from people who want to enjoy the opportunity to live in Montana (so the faculty exceed the reputation of the school). Over my time at UofM I went from a marginal student to an excellent student. I went from a shy kid to a very social person, and I found the people I met accepting and encouraging well in excess of the other colleges and business situations I have encountered. Go to Montana for a great well rounded experience. Then go elsewhere to work (beacuse there is no work in Montana), and then wish you were still there. | Starting Job: Program manger, Preparedness: A, Reputation: F

| Bright | I love everything about this school. Montana has everything that a student expects when they go to college. A great football team, ultimate frizbee, and hippies. Montana has fun teachers for the most part. | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Extracurricular Activities: B | | | |

The UM is a great school, surrounded by a great town. I originally went to a big research university in New York, but I came back to Montana and was shocked by how good my classes were. The social life is great- there's always a party you can go to, and students are easy to meet. The liberal arts departments can be competitive, but it is a liberal arts school.
Missoula is an amazing city, crisscrossed by bridges and rivers. There are a bunch of locally owned downtown shops, live music is common, and campus/community activism is off the charts compared to most places. The economy in Montana is good, and there are a bunch of job postings around campus. If you are an in state resident, this university is a steal. It's beginning to be discovered by out of state residents, who are attending the university in droves. Right now it's about 15% out of state, and that number is rapidly increasing. I've heard a lot of in state people complain about financial aid in their junior and senior years, but you get what you pay for. UM had to raise tuition to become a competitive university, and now it's one of the best out there. Check it out for yourself. | Preparedness: -, Reputation: -
