Super Brilliant
I will keep my comments brief and say that Guilford is not for everyone. It is a special kind of college where a special kind of student is meant to thrive. If you are looking for a huge University with Greek life and that whole mess, look elsewhere. I came to Guilford because I simply cannot learn in a lecture hall with 200 kids and a professor who will never bother to learn my name. I need accessible faculty who will hold me accountable for taking control of my own education. In this environment, I have risen to be the star of my department, with faculty begging (no exaggeration) me to enroll in their courses. I have found that the Athlete-Non Athlete divide is slowly healing, although the administration seems to be doing everything it can to impede this recovery. This brings me to the college's biggest negative: for such a small school, Guilford's administration operates in a tangled, unorganized mess of Bureaucracy that is frustrating to the point of absurdity. The College's current president is a number crunching pencil pusher with no holistic idea of the school that he is running. This school needs a serious administrative overhaul, and it needs to come sooner rather than later. Greensboro is okay, for such a big city, there is not a lot to do here but its not too boring on the weekends. So there it is, Guilford College. If you are the kind of student who needs this type of school, then the cost of tuition is worth every penny.
