High Point University is a great place for students in the upper social classes. If you are middle or low class I would not suggest attending. You will be attending on scholarship, loans, or grants. Then, when you graduate you will be paying for a mediocre education for the next 30 years. If you have a lot of money and plan on joining a sorority or fraternity, then the experience may be different. However, if you are a regular citizen and don't want to go to frat parties then your social life will probably be lacking. As for the education I received, I think I could have received better from a different university. The coursework is not challenging and the professors will give you extra credit for anything. This a university based purely on an outside appearance.

Do not go here!! it is a scam, all people do here is party! multiple people that have gone here have turned in to drug addicts and have had to go to rehab to get clean again. This school is also a joke because they dont arrest or expel students, even when they admit to things. If the cops catch you, all they do is take you back to campus and you get off. This school doesn't teach you any real life school. Don't send your kid here unless you want them to turn in to a drug addict!

DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT come here!!! Just last year, we were high school seniors reading reviews and we did not believe all the things they said but we were SO wrong. Everything about the school is a lie. There is a group of us who feel as we were bribed to come here. The president's class is not the favorite class, it is a joke. Basically an hour and a half of listening to him talk about how much money he has.

The food is terrible - you will become a forced vegetarian. The bakery does not understand how to make an UN toasted sandwich, which is really frustrating. Getting steakhouse reservations is a near impossible task, yet its promised once a week in your meal plan. You are told kiosks are open all day with water, hot chocolate, snacks, etc. when in reality, they are only open till 10am and just water and muffins with gooey, white "blueberries" in them.

The parties are out of control.. So many ambulances were called to campus in one night that the town of High Point didn't have anyone to respond in case of emergency..

This is not an extraordinary education, mediocre at best. You feel like you are in a cult and cannot escape. You are not left alone, you are called for meeting after meeting. Your RA is NOT your friend. You are told to leave them alone. Their solution to everything is fines. You are always threatened into doing things because otherwise you will be fined!

Yet, everything changes during family weekend or open house where everything promised magically appears. Again, do not come here. Trust us. It's a waste of your time and money.
