I went to Lees McRae College as a transfer student in 08. I didn't even last a semester. The classes were easy, and I found myself very bored! This wasn't because the teachers weren't good, it was because most of the students, while smart, didn't seem that interested in learning. As far as the town goes, well there isn't much to it. Its tiny and there is NOTHING to do. I was there in fall of 08, and while I don't rub my politics in people faces, I do like to volunteer for political campaigns and when students found out I was for Obama some stopped talking to me at all!!! I found them to be very closed minded, and un-excepting of other views. With that said the campus is beautiful, in the mountains in NC, and very well taken care of. If you don't mind a small school in a small town with nothing to do, and you are conservative minded then you will probably fit in, others probably won't.

I transferred to Lees-McRae after two years of community college. The first semester I loved this school, but soon the "newness" wore off and I saw how things really were. The administration is MONEY HUNGRY!!! I kid you not, they stick their student/ parents pocketbook however they can and they don't care. Oh and shall I add the president hates SGA because we actually voice the opinion of the student body. This use to be a fun but respectable school, however; that is not the case anymore.. If I could do it again I would have went to one of the other schools I got accepted to.
