Get used to living on campus, because the town of Pembroke is a state supported reservation that is held down by drunk locals. The school itself was founded as a way for native Indians to get an education, but they largely waved it off, and it depends on resident students. The education itself is well above average despite the stigma of being a second-choice school. Pembroke is NOT a research school (with a fantastic average class size of 15-20 students), so the professors primary job is teaching. Generally, they understand this, and since their job depends on the students, they do their best to support stragglers. Most professors have long office periods with walk-in policies, and many of them will become legitimate friends with their students, a relationship you will not find at research schools.Since there is no city life, the school does all the activity planning, and it is as active as they make it. All partying is done off-campus at apartments. Their sports program is OK at best, but the recently resurrected football team has had five wining seasons and one tournament appearance.

I loved the people there, but it's dangerous to walk around by yourself at night.

Super Brilliant
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree I earned at UNC Pembroke seems to be worth less than used toilet paper now that I'm looking to start my career.
