Honestly,I love Queens and I am positive this is where I am suppose to be. However, just like any other school, there are pros and cons to this university. I am a minority student here and there are a lot of things that I recognize that I feel some of the "privileged" majority do not see. I'll start with the positives:

PROS- Professor are wonderful. They are approachable and most times professors bend their backs to help the students out. Every professor I've had, has had an open door policy. There were plenty of times, I did not have an appointment and professors still let me walk in their office with questions. To travel abroad or go oversees is included in our tuition which I think is cool because I've always wanted to travel. Campus is BEAUTIFUL and very safe. Also we're in a major city, Charlotte, so there is always something to do. Queens has a lot of connections which is great for networking!

CONS- The professors are great, but some of the other staff is kind of terrible. Whereas most of the professors care for ALL of the students, the staff only cares about certain ones. It is not equal opportunity here. Its all about who you know and not what you know, which I understand is the world, but for a school to preach about fairness and equality, they certainly don't practice it. The minority students or diverse students do not get the same amount of respect towards the majority students. I asked a faculty member if they have heard of a certain minority club and their response was: "I didn't know that was a club. I didn't even know we had that many on campus". So that goes to show the support that minority clubs receive here on campus. The school is EXPENSIVE! Although I love the school, it is definitely not worth the amount we pay as students. Not even close. The school is small and sometimes feels like high school. Sometimes I do wonder if I went to a different school, would I be happy, but overall, I get a great education, a lot of contacts up my sleeve, and there are kind people on this campus. I choose to make my experience positive, which is what you have to do at Queens. :)

The University and the Faculty is great.. the prof are helpful and very kind, they really want u to learn and achieve what u want.. Otherwise, the students are too arrogant and isolated with their group in club or sport or whatever was their group.. racist & arrogant... they make me feel sick.. I only have been here for 4 months and sometimes I regret the day I enter this school but when I see how my profs treat me I go back to the track.. well, I don't know about other universities because I'm an international student and this is my 1st year here in a university, but the social life and the student are suck.. there are friendly people tho, but the majority of the student go through you with out even smile at ur face or greet u, like if u are not standing there.. In my country all the student treat u as a family they really care about u and try to help u without u asking for help.. even if u are new to them they makes u feel like u knew them since ever =") I really wanna go back home (TT_TT)PS, IF U ARE NOT AMERICAN AND YOU ARE A SOCIAL PERSON DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL, BUT IF U DON'T MIND BEING PUDHED AWAY.. U CAN STAY STILL, THE FACULTY WILL MAKE U FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE DOWN SO THINK A LOT BEFORE U MAKE YOUR FINAL DECISION.

This school is great if you want to be a nursing or business major. The school is VERY SMALL. It feels like a high school sometimes. The class sizes are amazing. All of the teachers you have will know your name and your personality within weeks of starting a class. The social life is good, but not great. Unless you play a sport or are in some kind of campus club, you basically have to fight for a social life. The school overall has a good reputation, but doesn't have a very rigorous curriculum. You can coast through most required classes.
