 | Quite Bright | Despite my initial negativity towards this institution, UNC Asheville is a good school. If you're interested in the typical college experience with huge athletics with huge football games, tons of binge drinking, and lots of noise, UNC Asheville is not the place to do it. There is definitely a hippy feel to this school, but if you aren't interested in the hippy atmosphere, it is easy to ignore and go about your business. You can be as involved, or as uninvolved as you want to. Not a huge greek life here, only a couple sororities and one frat here, so if going greek is a big deal to you, go elsewhere. The education department is top notch, they only give licensure's but it is a given that you will go somewhere else to do a Master's degree since UNCA does not really offer a wide selection. Parking is sometimes a pain but if you have early classes, you should have no problem finding a spot. The teachers are engaging and very willing to help you after class or during their office hours, which are usually fairly long. All in all for the price, UNCA is a good school if you're a mature student and are willing to put forth the effor. Sure, the liberal arts thing is kind of outdated, but you can usually use ratemyprofessors.com to weed out the few bad apples and take some rather interesting coursework. It is challenging, but doable. For the most part, I'm glad I came to a smaller university. The classes are small, you can usually have a first name basis with your professors, and really get to know them, which comes in handy once you need recommendations for Grad school. It's a decent place, for a decent price. The campus is also very beautiful too, just come visit! It's worth the trip. | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Social Life: C- | | | |

| | Average | If you are wanting to pursue a degree in Computer Science, stay away from UNCA. The professors are good at presenting the curriculum that UNCA offers, but the problem is the curriculum. It is so old! Times and technology change rapidly and UNCA is still in the stone age. | Preparedness: C-, Reputation: F | | |
