It's almost impossible to find people there who speak or think like decent human beings. I don't understand that place gets godd rankings. Coming there was the worst decision I have ever made in my life. | | Jul 22 2010 | Other | | |

| | | This university seems wonderful at first, but after a couple of semesters you realized that there are favorites who get all the benefits and others who are ignored regardless of their academic record and abilities. It is not a very challenging program, and the courses offered are not up to par with those of other universities. There is discrimination against age, illness and ethnicity within the department. Not every student is treated the same causing many disgruntled fellow classmates. It is not worth staying for the doctorate program. Also questions on written exams are unfair. Questions do not reflect the breakdown that students are told will be followed. | | May 19 2010 | Language - French/Spanish/etc. | | |

| | | Just completed the MBA for Executives evening program and LOVED IT! Having already completed both undergrad and graduate studies at state and private schools coast to coast, this was a late-career non-technical academic pursuit. I didn't know exactly what to expect, since the program is a lock-step 24 month study. This is really well done and tailored to working, mature adults, not inexperienced kids. The staff, administration, and faculty at Carolina were focussed on delivering a completely fulfilling experience, and the workload was well designed. If you are looking for a top-tier business school at a great institution in a fun college town, I would highly recommend this program. It is not for slackers, but for someone who wants to combine practical, real world study, fun, and hard work, this is the place. | | Dec 25 2007 | Business - Management and Administration | | |

| | | UNC-CH was the best academic experience of my life. I used to walk around campus pinching myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Davis Library is wonderful. It almost always had what I needed, and when it didn't, it could get it quickly. The opportunity to take classes and use the libraries at Duke and NC State is also wonderful. The faculty members were amazingly accessible. I will never forget that one faculty member invited me to her home the day before Christmas Eve to discuss my comprehensive exam questions. My adviser became both a mentor and a friend and once loaned me her home for a week. Finally, Chapel Hill may be the best small city on earth. There's a good home-grown and touring music scene with $7-$10 tickets that gets bands on the Boston-to-New Orleans circuit. The campus art museum is small but lovely, and there are two organic supermarkets nearby, one of which offers free music on its lawn on Thursdays in warm weather. | | Jan 03 2004 | Journalism | | |
