Come to UNCG only if you cannot affordJan 05 2017Economics
Come to UNCG only if you cannot afford or get admissions in other schools. The program is really poor and the design is awful. They change teh curriculum every semester. Best faculty leave in a maximum of two years. No research opportunities so ever, faculty does not care about you at all.If you are a good researcher and willing to work BY YOURSLEF and never show up to school. UNCG may be a good option for you.
Question
Rules are not theOct 05 2016Economics
Rules are not the same for every students. It is a waste of time. The study contents change every semester. Qualifier examinations are a joke, stupid questions with extra easy material. I transfer from UNC Chapel Hill and the quality is infinitely lower. Not recommend this program to anyone.
Question
My experience at this university has been nothingAug 21 2016Education
My experience at this university has been nothing short of horrible. While my program and my graduate school department have been ok, everything outside of actually taking classes has been an absolute nightmare. I was a graduate assistant for my first year in the athletic department, which seemed like an excellent, cost-effective way to get both experience and pay for school, but boy was I wrong. I was locked in a room and told that I wasn't allowed to leave (even just to go to the bathroom), and only rarely would anyone I worked with come to speak to me. Often they would come into the room I was in to grab something and completely ignore me, no matter how hard I tried to say hello. I didn't gain any valuable experience whatsoever, and even told my supervisor that I was disappointed in my experience. She responded by telling me that there is only so much to learn and that, after that, you're done. Needless to say, when the opportunity for a part-time job opened up, I took it without a second thought and quit my GA immediately afterwards.

From there my experience did not get any better. Trying to work with university administrators to get in-state tuition, I was taken in circles from one person, who would tell me that there was no reason I shouldn't get it, to the next who would tell me that I had to speak to the Dean of the university because he was the only person who could explain to me why I didn't get it, to the Dean who has no way to even see my application, at which point the cycle started all over again. The people I spoke with were rude and unhelpful both to me and my mother-in-law, to the point that she has filed a complaint against at least one woman that both she and I had to speak with on the phone. I live the campus, like my classmates, classes are ok, but everthing else has been so horrible that I came very close to dropping out with one year left in my degree. I advise you to run.

Question
I fail UNC andJan 14 2016Economics
I fail UNC and came to UNCG. This is super easy. I have no problem in passing the comp exams, the students are pretty stupid and you will LOL at their skills.
Question
I attended MSN ANP curriculum at UNCG 2011-2013Apr 01 2014Nursing
I attended MSN ANP curriculum at UNCG 2011-2013 and found UNCG to be overall a very good university but it only took one professor to make my academic efforts extremely difficult! I cannot mention her name due to safety reasons.

However I will say that the following instructors were very professional and appropriate to my success!:::::

Patricia Crane
Eric Ford
Ellen Jones
Nanette Lavoie-Vaughan
Lynne Lewallen
Ann Martin, very sweet and helpful lady!
Eileen Kohlenberg, the best!
Randolph Rasch, very nice!
Eileen Rossen, wonderful!
Lois VonCannon, great asset to the university!
Betsy Lehman
Brad Wrenn, awesome guy! very helpful and cares!
I want to thank these folks for providing me with a good experience in graduate school, they care about our nursing profession and about graduate students.

I would recommend UNCG MSN ANP program but just as you are careful how you lead your life, be careful in graduate school, there are some bad apples out there!Godspeed!

Love this place. What a gem.
Question
There is absolutely ZERO communication between faculty andSep 04 2010Other
There is absolutely ZERO communication between faculty and students. Faculty play political games and student do not complete the program in a timely manner. Students, regardless of previous professional experience, are treated like kindergartners and are not viewed as equals among the faculty. Faculty have ZERO professional experience in the industry and are unable to relate work-place experiences to their teaching methodologies. Faculty and student research is weak and undeveloped using simplistic methods. Quantitative research is frowned upon; the department cannot support the students currently enrolled as only 2 faculty members can serve as PhD chairs.
Question
My intent for coming here is to gradeFeb 09 2010Geography and Geosciences
My intent for coming here is to grade their graduate admissions department. I wouldn't recommend applying here because of it. Expect them to review your application no later than 6 weeks after you've received word from every other university you've applied to. They don't keep you up to date on your application process, they don't do anything you don't harass them to.
