This is a lousy school. Students are so competitive in regards to grades and classes it is ridiculous. People actually cry when they don't get the classes they want, and are angry at those who did get in. Most D1 sports here are a joke, and this school thinks it is WAY better than it really is. It basically is a snootier and more competitive high school with superficial shallow students who are super self-absorbed. I would think twice before coming here, and from my terrible experience, I would highly advise you going somewhere else!

Not so bright
This school is a joke. The majority of students are rich white snobs, who dress up to class every day, and are so self-absorbed they will walk over anyone on the ground. Professors, contrary to Wake's motto, are NOT approachable, and make you feel like you are a major inconvenience. If you are not upper-class, then you will feel very out of place. I will never ever recommend anyone go to this school. The university spends too much money on flowers and other useless garbage around the campus that makes it seem very materialistic. As for pro-humanitate, the motto should really be pro-self since students only participate in the few community events because it will "look good on a med or grad school application" If you really want a real college experience, I strongly suggest you stay away from this awful school- you shouldn't want to live in a bubble in the one of the most segregated cities in the country.

This school is truly amazing. After just a few days I realized I would never want to go anywhere else. I honestly think that this is the perfect school. Everyone is happy and loves to be here. The social scene is great- tons of greek involvement, but nothing too exclusive. The parties are always outrageous and plentiful. The work load, of course, it tough as are the classes in general, however the environment of the school and the social aspects of it balance this out. Work hard, play hard is definitely a motto here. Students work very hard with the knowledge that awesome parties and friends await them. The surrounding city provides anything you would need, great restaurants and some good shopping. It's no NYC, but there is rarely a desire for much more than wake itself offers you. There are always concerts in the area as well. The food is always improving and the Mag room simply can't be beat. Wake is phenomenal, plain and simple.

The Greek system should be the deciding factor for males. If you are willing to join a frat, the social life is avg to great. If not, it sucks. For females, sororities are also the best bet, but they can easily get by without joining one.
