There is a real sense of community atQuite Bright
There is a real sense of community at Wake that sets it apart from other institutions. The administration constantly stresses the importance of a living learning environment and their initiatives make the school feel like home. In my opinion the best things about Wake are the individual attention you get from professors, the student body that is very smart but also social, and the increasing diversity of the school community. The worst part about Wake is the lack of grade inflation. Contrary to popular belief, Wake does not deflate grades but when compared to other universities it does feel like that sometimes. Its not just that our average gpa is slightly lower than comparable institutions but the level of work it takes to obtain a good gpa is significantly higher than at other schools. Hopefully, that work pays off and the Wake Forest reputation helps students get jobs/get into graduate programs.

Question
Cannot see myself anywhere else.Quite BrightPhysics
Cannot see myself anywhere else. Senior year, it came down to Duke for 20000 a year in debt, or a full ride at Wake. I chose Wake and am loving it! I am a minority student here, Indian, and everyone is extremely accepting! Like other top schools such as Vanderbilt, students work hard and are extremely smart, but also know how to have a good time! The ACC sports also help give the school a sense of unity among students. Proud to be part of such a prestigious institution. Go Deacs!

Question
Wake Forest is a very special place.Kinesiology
Wake Forest is a very special place. It takes you to the edge of your academic sanity and constantly challenges you to pick yourself up after being humbled by loads of reading, hard tests, a quick-paced social life, and the demand of copious student organization involvements. I hated it at times, but now that I'm out I'm far more prepared for the real world than some of my peers at other Universities, I have little doubt. Bottom line: There are very talented, bright, and motivated individuals. If you can roll with the crowd and have a passion to be the best you can be then this is the place for you. If not, save yourself the tuition money and go to Carolina.
