 | Average | My experience at Wingate has help me out alot. I played football at WU and was able to double major in psychology and sociology. It was alot of hard work being a student athlete but I wouldnt have changed anything. After undergrad, I went to grad school. I felt that I was fully prepared because of my undergraduate experience. I would recommend Wingate to anyone who will have a car in college. You have to go a short distance (4 miles) to get off campus and have fun... | | Bright | Wingate University is the most boring school I have ever even thought could exist. Not only is the campus itself boring, but the people are boring, as well as the surrounding city. It is sad when everything on campus closes before dark, and it is even sadder that going home on the weekends consists of more excitement then if one were to actually stay on this disgusting and smelly campus. | Faculty Accessibility: A, Education Quality: F | | | |

| | Bright | | As I'm finishing up my freshman year I find it's been a very mixed experience. I love the chemistry department here at Wingate and actually have found most of my professors in other classes to be very caring and helpful. They really try to teach the material, and are accessable if you need extra help in office hours. If you seem to be having a tough time, they'll check with you to make sure things outside of class are going okay, I suppose you could find that side of things at most smaller schools, but it's definitely nice to have. On the other hand socially the campus isn't that great, there are a lot of activities and it's not difficult to get involved. But many students feel that they are better than others, and take a Holier-Than-Thou attitude towards other students and there's a lot of cattiness amongst the female population which seems as if it should've been left in high school. Also there is a lot of drinking and partying. I don't participate and still have felt the consequences of the sheer quantity of drinking that goes on. With it being such a small campus, gossip gets around if something happens at a party. Also a lot of people transfer out. There are many pre-pharmacy track students who plan on leaving after two years, and others who simply decide they want to change majors and the school doesn't offer that many alternatives, or the campus is too small and the gossip and cattiness gets to them. However, anyone can find a social niche here. The campus is large enough for that, and I have made some amazing friends. This is basically just a side note, but the campus also smells pretty bad a lot of the time. Not entirely sure why...All in all the faculty are excellent and the social environment tolerable. So depending on what you're looking for socially and if they have your major I would recommend it, but personally I think I might have been better choosing a different school | Education Quality: A, Surrounding City: F | | | |
