First of all, NDSU tries really hard toQuite BrightPolitical Science
First of all, NDSU tries really hard to seem like a big successful University. It is not. A degree from NDSU is pretty much nothing...I mean you could still get a job somewhere with it, but don't expect to be on the same level of knowledge with people who went to a REAL university. NDSU teaches nothing. The classes classified as "hard" are only hard because of the amount of things they ask you to do, not the amount of actual thought put into it. Most of the classes are taught by TAs or master students, and the actual professors never encourage class discussions. The campus is ugly. Just this Christmas one of the buildings on campus collapsed into a near-by construction hole...(the engineer planning the construction must have gotten their degree at NDSU). Also, if your somewhat of a liberal, you would HATE it here. The school allows pro-life posters to be hung EVERYWHERE, and if you ask if you can hang a pro-choice one, they wont let you. The school is currently in a spending and hiring freeze because it doesn't know how to budget money. Overall, I strongly discourage coming here if you like warm weather, a pretty campus, are somewhat of a democrat, or want a real education.

Do not go here unless you're a pharmacy, architecture, or engineering student. Trust me. Just don't.

NDSU is the proper fit for only aBrightZoology
NDSU is the proper fit for only a very small number of students. I do not suggest coming here if you are from somewhere warmer, because as there is no tunnel system, it is quite cold walking across campus to class in the winter.

As a Zoology major, I was expecting them to gear more towards my interests in Zoology, not the paper cut-out version of course req's. Don't go here if you have any ideas of doing anything off the beaten path.

The Biology programs are very frusterating, as even the Freshman classes are nearly impossible to pass, let alone comprehend the material. Most professors are older and very conservative.

Considering Fargo/Moorhead has three universities, I figured the night life would be pretty active, even if I'm not a huge partier. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Most of the people here play video games and stay in on the weekends. The campus-sponsored events are boring, and Fargo has hardly anything to do for college students. I'm counting down the days until the semester is over and I switch colleges.

The students are very friendly, and making friends was easy, so if you like a very, very small-town low-key life, NDSU might work for you. Don't expect a spontaneous, exciting life past your first couple months, though.
