While many staff are friendly and helpful, those in power are close-minded and reproachful. If you decide to go here always mind your p's and q's and beware of the students around you who are also narrow-minded because if they complain- the administration will listen to, and accomodate them.

I am enrolled in the Masters program in Portfolio Management and Security Analysis at Creighton University. So far this has been a huge waste of money. Only one of the online courses even had audio. The other courses did not even have that. The only tool the university has provided is a PowerPoint presentation for each of the CFA chapters. Big deal!
The sad part is that the current instructors didn't even write the powerpoint presentations. I am on my fourth course and the instructor availability is horrible. They are very slow to respond to questions and their availability via phone is almost non existent. Unless you have deep pockets and do not care about dropping $27,000 "for basically learning the CFA material on your own" stay away from this program.

The personnel in the admissions department were very nice and helpful. They made it seem like the instructors were there to help you get through the material. In practice I can tell you that the program in my opinion is not helpful.
There are many things they could do to improve, but for some reason they have chosen to make no progress.

This is an online program so the platform is important. You would think that they would at least video tape the lectures, or at a minimum record some audio. Wrong! They want you to type discussions in a blog with other students who are learning the material. Occasionally, the instructor will chime in with a comment, but I had trouble even getting the instuctors to respond to my emails.

My last class of Financial Statement Anal, the instructor was not available for the last 2.5 weeks of an 8 week class. In other words he was absent from the class for 31% of the time and his sub did not respond to a single email, or phone call.

They could easily take a flip camera and record the classes and post them on ITunes for free through a podcast. But, apparently this is beyond the capabilities of the IT personnel assigned to this program. The sad thing is Podcasts are everywhere but in my opinion, this program is set up to take your hard earned money.

Don't go to the law school. Go somewhere better. I wish I would have.

The school is more worried about money and prestige then they are about actually teaching. They try to make classes difficult rather than catering to learning because they think that makes them a better school. If you have a lot of money or your family donates to Creighton then the school will bend over backwards for you, but if you are a typical student then don't expect them to listen to anything you have to say. I thought undergraduate program was pretty good and found caring faculty there, but the pharmacy program stinks.

Not such a good place. Some professors are horrible and you wish you did not have to deal with them.

My experience here has been horrible. If you can, please avoid coming here. Racism is rampant, professors are unfriendly and your life will be hell here.

Business - Management and Administration

A highly racist college with racist professors not caring about student's future. My advise to all the international students wanting to come into CU is that please do not even think about doing so. You are better off in the bigger cities in US rather than Omaha. If you do not get admission in colleges located in the bigger cities, please stay in your home country. My experience as an international student here has been horrible.
