I would not recommend going to NEC. They were inconsistent with information. I got different answers from different departments. I was supposed to get credit from The Bureau of Education Program by contract with they did not agree to. I am so glad I withdrew and am now admitted to a better in state universtity. It was not one incident, it was pretty much anything and everything. DO NOT GO HERE.

Public Policy

I was a graduate student at the college. The faculty for the most part is okay. If you are looking for top-rate, go elsewhere. The administration of the graduate program is a joke. It is a pet project of a mediocre social worker who over-estimates his ability to understand the needs of future counselors, by hiring friends and co-workers to teach courses. The teachers are in general nice, but lack the ability to work the students or challenge them academically. Many of the graduate students are able to talk their way into graduating and these are the people we have as counselors helping mentally unstable people. The other problem with the program is the politics. If you displease the administrator the teachers are likely to get fired mid-class, or the curriculum can suddenly change. You were expecting to take a class on Counseling Youth, but wind up in a Group Psychology course. The students going to the college are either hard working professionals who are trying to change/advance in careers or are some of the dumbest people you will ever meet! Needless to say, there are much better colleges to choose.
