I'm a current General Studies student and my academic experience has been positive, but not as rigorous as I would have liked. I'm only here because I can't afford to go anywhere else at the moment, so I'm taking classes that will hopefully help me transfer and qualify for some scholarships. While the school is great for the money, the fact is that it is a community college and so not exactly the most selective environment (almost anyone can get in). A lot of the students are complete slackers and only chose to live on campus because they thought they would be partying all the time (and if that is your thing, just knowthat the campus is almost completely dead from Friday night till Monday morning). The dorms are livable but small, and people treat them like crap and we are always getting fined for someone leaving tampons in the shower or (on the boys floor) ripping hand dryers and paper towel dispensers out of the walls. Ultimately, though, college is what you make of it and yu can get an education and even have a decent residence life experience if you try. Not a bad place to get started.

I you are black this is not the school for you. They are very racist and prejudice in that school both teachers and students. If you're interested in nursing and you're black forget it, everywhere you go you will be the only black person there and that's not a good feeling when everyone else has friends and you're all alone, plus the nursing program is cutthroat a lot of people don't make it through the program.

My experience at the college was great. The majority of the faculty were knowledgeable and helpful. A lot of the students are slackers and waste classtime asking unbelievably stupid questions, but the college is what you make of it. The campus is clean and the student center is great. My only complaint is that the administration is rude, unhelpful, and makes simple tasks difficult.
Faculty Accessibility: A+, Useful Schoolwork: C-
