I have so much advice to give any young student. It is OKAY to be undeclared. Take your time, take electives. It gives you more time to find your career path. If you start in a rigorous degree program (like business - which is where I started) when you start to realize it isn't for you, you will feel like it is too late and settle. DON'T DO THAT.

Other things with UNH.. I was in SCOPE and MUSO. I was interested in the music business. SCOPE was HORRIBLE. It was a popularity contest and didn't care if you were there to learn. Since UNH I have changed my area of interest to animal science and now work at a vet hospital. There are OTHER schools and I advise you to look into them. No one at UNH cares what you do/how you get there/what you do post-grad. Find a school that is more like a family and will guide you into a career that makes you happiest -- DO NOT SETTLE FOR SECOND BEST!

I wouldn't attend the mathematics program in any school again. First job interview I had, I told the interviewer I dropped out of EE and became a math major. He told me, "Too bad you didn't stay in EE."

People at work are graduates of biology and microbiology at UNH. Life Sciences seems to be respected, but not math. I took physics and hated it, but enjoyed math. The physics professors could barely dress themselves. Wearing plaid with plaid and displaying their photo in the hall to identify themselves - wow.

I met a woman from my undergrad class who was working at a supermarket as a cashier recently. One close relative attended business school and did well. My relatives from New Hampshire didn't attend UNH. Maybe because I got a math degree and couldn't find work.

The degree was a waste. I wish I had used the money to go to a trade school instead. The UNH reputation isn't nearly as strong as you probably think it is. If I had it again I would look at their placement rates (UNH WSBE MBA is somewhere below 50% I believe) before signing up. Talk is cheap, being unemployed with few prospects is expensive. Choose wisely
