T
HE only public university in the state, the University of New Hampshire is recognized for the quality of the academic experience it provides to its students.  With a strong and growing research component, it yet remains a moderately sized institution emphasizing undergraduate instruction with an intersdisciplinary focus.  UNH has the look and feel of a new England liberal arts college with a faculty dedicated to teaching.  Within its seven schools and colleges there are over 100 majors available.  Other opportunities include an undergraduate research program, an honors program, and internships, study abroad and exchange programs.  Located in the rural town of Durham, the university is within 20 minutes of the seacoast and is a one hour drive from Boston, from Portland, Maine or the New Hampshire White Mountains.
