Positive Negative Neutral Advice
A lot of people say bad things aboutQuite BrightComputer Science
A lot of people say bad things about Drew, about the student body being very cliquey. However, that is the case at all schools, and is in fact worse at any of the other schools I've been told about by friends at other universities. The truth is, it is very easy to make new friends here, I make many new friends every year. I will admit that there are a little bit of politics that go on here; the Hall of Sciences is currently falling apart because the administration put all of its resources into the new Arts building, but all in all, there is a positive learning environment, without too much unhealthy competition.

Question
I spent two years at Drew and thoughtQuite BrightOther
I spent two years at Drew and thought the education was outstanding, but because the university's financial aid is terrible and the administration seems to be unaware, many of the students are J. Crew types who can afford BMW's; diversity of outlook, socio-economic groups and philosophies are nonexistent. Students who are in the top of their high school classes get full-rides or close to it; others get little and with tuition at almost $40,000 a year, few can afford it. To add insult to injury, people in the offices are rude -- the attitude is pretty much if you can't afford to pay the money, then you shouldn't be here. Tom Kean is nice enough, but clueless. The friends I made at Drew seem to feel about the same way I do. Most have considered transferring -- several have done it, including me. There's doesn't seem to be much school spirit. Unless you are a J.Crew type, don't go here.

Question
A disgusting waste of money, I wanted toQuite BrightPhilosophy
A disgusting waste of money, I wanted to go to college for the experience and I got -expletive-. For all it's been worth I might have been better buying the books and teaching myself, or at the least going almost anywhere but here. Fairleigh Dickinson was ready to send a car for me and I'm kicking myself for not taking it now. If you're gay, go here, but don't expect to be treated differently, because everyone else is too. If you want to study psych or poli sci, I've HEARD that the programs here are good. The social life sucks. Madison NJ sucks the marrow from my bones and the life from my body. Madisonites hate the Drew students and the Drew students hate each other. There is nothing to do on a Friday night and that goes well with the theme of there not be anything to do on any night. On the other hand, if you want to play Rugby and wade through an inch of dirty beer and possibly urine each wednesday just to watch a grown man be forced to drink dirty beer out of his friends shoe, then this is the place for you. Don't waste your money, just be a luxury sedan every year for the next four years instead. Yes, I did try to start more student programs out of sheer boredom, but the student apathy is simply disgusting.
