Super Brilliant
I think the university has a lot of potential but right now it seems money isn't put where it needs to go to make a difference, but on fluff. The student body as a whole has no school spirit and I think that speaks volumes about the underlying problems within the college. If you're going to apply, don't just look at the campus, talk to the students, talk to faculty and staff. This isn't a cheap school and I don't think you get what you pay for here.

Bright
I just can't believe the negative comments, and you should take them to heart either.
Let me start off with the good things. I was a student at the Madison campus, which I believe is MUCH better than the Teaneck campus.

First academics, my major, which was business/accounting was great. The teachers were tough but helpful. Classes were small. Moreover, Fairleigh Dickinson is a very nurturing school. There is a lot of tutoring for those that seek it out. Although I can't compare this to other schools or to that of other majors, Professors were reasonably accessible in our major.

Facilities: the facilites are GREAT. They have a great workout gym where the Giants train. The pool is outstanding. Computer rooms are usually fairly empty with top notch stuff. In fact many class rooms are wired for internet and electric plugs for computers.

As for Aesthetics: The campus is gorgeous. If you don't believe me, just visit the school. It really is a beautiful campus at least at the Madison Campus..

Cafeteria: I am shocked at some of the said by prior posters. I thought the food was great. My dad always wanted to eat here. Even my brothers, who attended other schools thought we had the best cafeteria. Yes, school food does get old;however, the cafeteria in the Madison campus was pretty good for college food.

Local city: Yes, this isn't NY;however, I liked Madison a lot. It is an upscale place with nice restaurants and very safe. In fact, it is a lot safer than what you will find at the Teaneck campus. Moreover, it is only a 30 min. train ride to Manhattan if you want to go there.

Dorms: Freshmen dorms are a hole. There is no question about it;however, you do get to meet a lot of people. This is sad considering that the uppper class dorms are much nicer. There are some upper class dorms that were just built that are beautiful and fully equipped for internet.

Study abroad: FDU had a number of study abroad options in both England and at Monaco. They are great and highly recommended.

Ok so with all the positive, why are there negative comments?
First, as I said, freshmen dorms are old and crappy. This does give FDU a bad taste for freshmen.
Secondly, many kids go home over the weekend. Although there are still a number of kids here, many do leave. If this bothers you, don't come here. Let me assure you, however, that you can have a decent social life. There are a number of nice, great looking guys/girls here. My dance card was always as full as I wanted. Are there jerks here too? Yes, you can find them. However, I promise you that you can find all types of people here.

Moreover, I really liked the weekends a lot because it allowed me to study without the usual distractions. Again, you can look at a glass as half empty or half full. I liked it.

Third: Clubs are hit or miss. Some , like the computer club was pretty good. Other clubs were just boring. It does depend on the club and the mix of people.Bottom line: FDU Madison is a pretty good school for a number of reasons such as small classes, lots of tutoring and nurturing, gorgeous campus and great facilities. Having kids leave on weekends can be both good and bad. Having a large variety of students also has its pros and cons, but you can find people who you like. Overall, I really liked the school and so did my girlfriend.
Useful Schoolwork: A+, Social Life: C+

Quite Bright
It's a good school as long as you pick a worthwhile major. Freshman tend to go home way too much on the weekends. However most people on campus are very friendly as well as the faculty. There is plenty to do here as long as you go out and make and effort to be involved in different club/organizations/events.
