MSU is a solidQuite BrightPolitical Science
MSU is a solid school that offers a better education than people might first realize. But that's the thing about MSU-it's a hidden gem. The surrounding town isn't that great but NYC is right there and Philly isn't too far. You get what you put in. (I would transfer because I hate my department)

Montclair State University students can be very harshBrightEducation
Montclair State University students can be very harsh on their school. You are getting a great education, especially if you're going for teaching. The most important thing to remember is that this school is what you make of it. You can go out every weekend, I do, but you need to make friends. There is a big club scene but it's not the only option. There are definitely a lot of things academically and recreationally to be involved in. The biggest issue is that a lot of the students are unmotivated and fall behind. There isn't much organization in the advising department. You need to go straight to the head of your major if you don't have a good advisor. If you are motivated and willing to advocate for yourself you can have a great experience at Montclair State University.

The campus is beautiful, the faculty is helpfulAverageEducation
The campus is beautiful, the faculty is helpful (for the most part) and the students are easy to get along with. The courses in the education department are challenging but rewarding (aside from gen eds). But the biggest gripe I have with this school is the lack of nightlife and greek-life, there's not much to do on Thursday through Saturday nights unless you can afford to go to a club every week. It's a suitcase college for good reason.Bottom line, this school is all work and no play. Yes, indeed Jack is a very dull boy.
