The Political Science and Law Department at Montclair State University has some wonderful Professors and Adjunct Professors. The new Department Chair Professor LeClair is wonderful, understanding, and accommodating to students. I had an genuine issue and we resolve it together. If he stays as the Department Chair this is going to be the best place to go to school! He took over for the previous Chair.

The department needs more awesome professors, especially on global issues, economic issues and international stuff. Some of the faculty need to be engaged with new developments and trends in political science, and one person well... avoid her classes. I have had two adjunct professors who were the best professors I have ever had, and the majority of the faculty are really smart, taught me a lot, and are really helpful. When you get accepted take some time to learn about the faculty and who you should be taking classes with. You will find a good amount of the faculty super helpful. Just be careful of a few bad apples so they don't spoil the bunch. I am majoring in Political Science and Jurisprudence, graduating in 2013. I've taken the most of the professors and if you get the chance take a classes with these Professors: Wishnick (especially Chinese/Asian classes), LeClair (law classes), Drake or Segall (mostly law classes), Nyiri (he's new but really good and smart), Harrison (American Politics), Spanakos (political theory classes), Floropoulus (international relations, law), Tayler (really intense but you will learn a lot).

Super Brilliant
Montclair State has its good points and bad points.
The housing department is absoulotley horrible, they are disorganized and lazy. Signing someone in every time they visit your residence hall and withholding the drivers liscence of your guest is ridiculous. The building need far more singles as everyone wants to live in the village because of the singles and the university somehow cannot comprehend why everyone only wants to live in the village. You cannot eat anywhere on campus unless you have flex dollars which go quickly. You have to use your blocks and your shit out of luck if you want to eat somewhere after eight using blacks except for an eatery in the basement of the student center called "the rat" (sounds scrumptious, huh?) which only serves greasy fried food. And even that is only open until two o'clock am. For some unknown reason they have people serve food at blanton which is a big mistake, they is no reason that they should have a job serving food because freeman runs fine without anyone serving food. It is awkward and they act like they are doing you a favor when they serve you and wont give you two of anything. These ex cons do not deserve to be on the university payroll. All in all housing is a nightmare and the food plan is confusing and needs to be fixed.

Now for the academics, they are not so bad, university hall is nice, the lecture halls are beautiful and the professors usually have pretty lax attendance polices. The classrooms in Mallory Hall and Dickson Hall however are sub par and the art building a disgusting mess. The professors are somewhat helpful but often foreign and therefore hard to understand. Most of the professors I have had graduated from Columbia University and I will definitely brag about the education I received here when I graduate. I only wish the university would hire a more efficient staff for housing and have more singles, change the meal plans, and renovate some of the more ugly buildings to match buildings like university hall. Oh and the library definitely needs to be open on weekends more, after all, it is a university, we come to study. How can we study if the library is closed????

If you ever wanted to be surrounded by jersey shore cast members and n"ggers, then this is the place to be

everyone can get in here
the food is poison, the people who prepare it are all convicts it looks as though they are straight from jail and they honestly do not give a rats ass about the food because it is always unprepared.

The shuttle system is the worst i have ever seen.
The construction is planned on the absolute worst times, for example on a monday when everyone has class from 2-8 they will shut down half the university roads.

The fraternitys are a dying breed on this campus, (but shhh dont tell them that)
the only somewhat bright spot on this campus is some of the professors actually are engaging and like to actually talk to their students, but the rest of the professors got their heads shoved so far up their asses that they could probably examine their own throat
