There are some good professors at NJIT, mostQuite BrightComputer Science
There are some good professors at NJIT, most of them are not in the STEM departments. So in advance I apologize to those that are actually good. On the other hand NJIT has everything backwards. There was very little help in my area of study once you are in the upper level classes. I had a professor once tell me that "I get what I pay for when I went for helper". He even went as far as to say that this is not an "ivy league school". So there is evidence of how helpful the professors are in the CS department. Well at least the one that I went to for help. Again there are good professors but one bad apple does spoil the bunch. The computer science courses lack the capacity for the number of students that are currently enrolled, or they refuse to spend money on accommodating the student needs. For example in a class of about 80 students there was no TA, yet NJIT is building a 100 million dollar athletic stadium; NJIT is not a sports school nor should they try to be. That alone should tell you what the current leadership at NJIT is emphasizing for their future, "2020 VISION".

Take it for what it is.Quite BrightEngineering Department
Take it for what it is. I do not recommend going here, but could be a backup if you have almost NO other options. Honestly, there are much better schools in NJ.

My synopsis of this school was "Thank youAverageOther
My synopsis of this school was "Thank you sir, may I have another"; but it was worth the piece of paper and the job that I got at the end of it.

As with all tech schools, be prepared to supply your own girlfriend, or bring an xbox and be prepared to hang out with mostly men for four years for your social life, as there are two women for three men, and one of those women you wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. Newark is kind of a dump. If you want the traditional college experience, don't come here.

That being said, the placement record of the university is solid for my field, and am currently gainfully employed in another area of the country with pay that is the 60th percentile. And the school is remarkably cheap for its area. If you can tolerate the lack of women and social opportunities, this is an excellent school if your on a budget and want to expand your career opportunities. If your an introvert, you'll function well here.
