First off the school has a horrible time keeping up with your paper work. I had to keep submitting things that I had already give them. Everything was handed in to the offices like three times and they kept losing it. This should have been the first sign to get out. Next is the sociology department is the worst. The professors are teaching students, but the professors don't even know the subject they are teaching. I took three courses and everytime all the professors said "I have never tought this before so I will actually be learning it with you." Then you ask them for help and they can't because they don't know it and of course exams don't make sense.

The Law department is awful. I don't even know where to begin with this one. They treat all the students like they are going into law school when about 75% of them want to go into Law Enforcement. Granted some of the stuff I can understand why it is being tought but if you run into trouble the teachers treat you with a lack of respect and look down upon you as if you are not an adult. I am 26 years old and trying to get my B.A.. I would like to see a professor that is not out to fail you. You can write and A paper and then show it to them the following and they'll say it's a C at best.

It would be nice if the professors at Ramapo made themselves avaible and maybe put a smile and did their jobs. If I had to do it over again I would pick WPU or FDU.Think twice before you go here. They have screwed me out of college credits and my money. This school was the biggest waste of my time and money.

I absolutely love it here! the dorms are incredible and each dorm no matter what class you are in has its own private bathroom! the only downside is that about half of the campus goes home on the weekends. As long as you find other people that stay, which you will, you'll be fine! I don't know what people are talking about when they say there are no parties though... you can find a party any night of the week... the people saying that must just not get invited to many... the classes and teachers are very helpful and you will learn a lot. The campus is gorgeous and the outside area is perfect for anything you would like to do. There are 3 HUGE malls within 15 min of campus and theres a train station to NYC 2 min from campus! There are also a lot of night clubs in the area and just about every restraunt and business you can think of right on rt 17 just 2 min down the road. I love ramapo =)

I really don't understand how ramapo is planning on keeping students. i have transferred and at my current college i've encountered many transfers from ramapo (1 being my roommate). the consensus all say the same thing: they hated it, there's nothing to do, not a real college feel. to be honest the only thing i miss about that school is how pretty the campus is. but that obviously isn't enough. lack of a social atmosphere, surrounding city is extremely boring, and arrogant student body. parties are non existent except for the "village" parties, but don't worry, security will bust it in 30 minutes in. academics were subpar as i barely broke a sweat and got a 3.5...just consider other alternatives before ramapo.
