| Bright | Upon entering Adelphi my freshman year, I instantly knew this school was not for me. Academically, the work is not too hard and the classes are small. The teachers are great, all very flexible and willing to provide extra help and give you breaks (i had several teaches let me do extra credit when I wasn't supposed to). The social life sucks, with the majority of students from the New York area, the campus becomes a ghost town on weekends. My floor which had about 40 guys living on it, would have only 5-10 students around on the avg weekend. Their are parties on the weekends, if you are down to spend alot of money, and goto bars like the one in "my new f*cking haircut" then Thursday night is perfect for you. All parties that go down are far off campus. The city is close, which I spent alot of time in. But the city isnt close enough where you can just wander to one night without a plan as to what to do. The small campus also feels like high school all over again, with the same stupid gossip that shouldnt go on in college. If your not going to join a frat or a sorority, and you dont plan on going home every weekend. This school is for sure not for you! | Perceived Campus Safety: A+, Campus Aesthetics: F | | | |

| Quite Bright | Adelphi has a lot to offer, but has an atmosphere that just doesn't provide. It is a major commuter school, so most students come for classes, and then leave. The only students who utilize the campus are the residents who have nothing to do (because they don't have a car) or the over-achievers. Living on campus can be isolating, but that makes you closer to other people in your dorm who are the same way, but if you only know people from Long Island who drive home whenever they want, you could definitlely get lonely. Because coming to class is just something to do for those who live in the area and felt like they just had to go to college after high school, it isn't always that exciting. Sometimes I do feel like I am in a class of high schoolers. I have had some horrible professors who totally give in to the bored look on students' faces and make the whole class a waste, but I have had others who can push on anyway. The Honors College is a great program to be in because it gives you a community to be a part of within the campus of commuters, but there are way too many international students all from the same eastern European countries in the program and in the end that turns out to be isolating too. If Adelphi students were involved and innovative, I think the school would be fabulous, but it seems like Adelphi will always be the convenient commuter choice. | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Social Life: C- | | | |

| Not so bright | The school is just not a party school. Living on campus is a sorry waste of cash. The neighborhood is a major drag, and the girls are not even pretty. Again, I must stress, the GIRLS ARE FAT AND DUMB! Unless you go to the Honors College, you won't meet anyone really bright, and even then, you won't meet someone social and interesting enough to listen to. It's a great school for spoiled Italian kids who live near the neighborhood, but it is a terrible place for education if you are from NYC. | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Surrounding City: F | | | |

| Bright | Its been said before, college is what you make of it. I have met some great friends (both commuters & residents)I like the proximity to Manhattan as well as Jones Beach. I find the work challenging & faculty approachable. | Campus Aesthetics: A, Extracurricular Activities: C | | | |
