Super Brilliant
BCC is a great school, filled with fantastic and talented professors, especially the law faculty in the Business Department.

You will just get what you pay for. As a community college BCC has a fairly large range of classes, and the faculty is generally okay.

The financial aid office does have alot to be desired. I live out of state and was not made sufficiently aware of the tuition until this last semester. During my last affair with them I recall the secretary telling me that all my aid was in order, when this wasn't exactly true. I checked my status via the college website and found out that I still had over $1300 dollars to rake together in a couple of weeks. When I went back to the office to discuss this with her, she acted as if it was irrelevant. Anything over a thousand dollars is nothing to ignore!

However, the faculty in the math department are very friendly and knowledgable. They've helped me answer any questions I had and constantly went out of their way to help me in my academic career. But don't expect too much from other departments.

The social life is blind and lame. Unless you went to a school in Binghamton, prefer profanity over courtesy or would enjoy the life of a recluse don't come here. I can't say I don't have friends, but they are far and few between. A large majority of the student body is ignorant and self-absorbed. Many of them complain over things that are inherent in any school system (i.e. homework, exams, brain activity). Forget coming here unless you know other friends prior to coming or actually went to a school in the Southern Tier.

Great school to start your college expereince at. I went for two years, and transferred out to Binghamton University. Classes were good, and everyone was very friendly. My major problem with the school is the academic advisment. I asked repeatedly and was told a number of times by my appointed advisor that I would graduate right on schedule, then at the end of my last semester he said I needed another elective class to graduate. Unfortunately he only figured this out 3 weeks before my last day so it was too late and I'd have to come another semester (which I refused, I just transferred). He tried to reason with me that most students go to this school for more that 2 years, but it seems to me that many students did this because of the incompetence and general indifference on behalf of the academic advisors. My girlfriend is currently going there and has had problems as well, even people that work there have agreed that the advisment is abysmal. So go there, and have fun, but be very wary of the advisors.
