Canisius does not provide the "college experience" in any way. Due to it's small size, there is a lack of classes to choose from. And the religion and philosophy requirements are excessive. The school finially opened up the first floor of a new science building (when I took my tour here 4 years ago it was supposed to open the next year, it took 3 years), and the other floors are works in progress, who knows when they will open, and if the college will receive funding for it.

Also, Canisius is in a terrible part of town. The campus police send out emails when there is crime in the area, and there are quite a few of those emails. These include shootings, killings, and robbery of student houses in the surrounding neighborhood.

This is something that no body tells you when you come to visit the school, but safety is big for me and if I would have known, I would not have come to this school.

No one really cares about the basketball team here. (why would they...)
And the food is absolutely disgusting. The school does have a Subway and a Tim Hortons, but these resturants do not accept "meals" on your mealplan...

First of all, lets talk aboout the students. They are the richest, most materialistic, stuck up, spoiled, arrogant, snobby, snooty, arrogant brats that is has ever been my displeasure to know. The kids here walk around in outfits that are worth more than my parents make in a week. If you are a working class kid who is used to putting forth effort to get what you know you deserve, then you will not fit in with the stuck up brats that have had everything handed to them since the moment they were born. Everyone complains about how difficult the coursework is here, but it's a piece of cake. I'm smart but I'm no Einstein; it should be at least a little difficult. People here look down on the surrounding public schools for having inferior academics, although most of those schools have higher admissions requirements. These kids can party and drink all they want to; they don't have to worry about their GPA because they do not receive financial aid; the school needs their money because it is in debt, so as long as Mommy and Daddy keep footing the bill, no one is getting kicked out. You only need a 2.0 in the courses in your MAJOR for a degree; everything else can be lower. It is an absolute joke. Transfering without looking back.

Coming to this college has been the biggest mistake that I have ever made in my life. The college is the hugest fucking ripoff in the world. The food is total processed shit, and also not many options at all. The library is too small and there are not enough spaces for everyone, only one quiet floor every other floor is obnoxious, at a freaking library. They have the most unnecessary fees for no reason, like getting fined 100 bucks if you are found on campus during break?? The environment is very run down and looks worse than a public state school. Surrounded by a very dangerous neighborhood, it is shit. I honestly do not know where all the money is going 30,000 tuition, I'm clueless. The people are a huge problem for me too, full of the most stuck up snooty people I have ever met in my life. People are unfriendly and unaccepting to the extreme. I only was able to come here due to financial aid, if you do not have nice clothes, it is likely people will give you dirty looks. Most are very judgmental and talk shit about alot of people. People who come here have mommy and daddy pay their tuition for them and went to private high schools and do not even care that everything is a fucking ripoff. The staff is not even great, the value of an education learned here is not even close to 30,000. Transferring with no regrets.
