There are positives and negatives about canisius
positives:The students are very freindly and down to earth, the campus is beautiful, their is a warm caring religious atmosphere, the college is dedicated to promoting service activities and charitable activities, it is very safe-public safety is freindly.

negatives: they make you pay up to $100.00 for a parking permit that you will only be able to use in 1 or 2 parking lots.and it has to be renewed every semester.

the book store charges obscene amounts of money for textbooks, the prices will make you want to punch them in the face. When you try to sell the book back they will give you $2.00 for a $120.00 book.

The library closes and opens at inconvenient times. They also charge you a fee for printing, assuming that the printer works.

the food in the economou dining hall is not worth the 30,000 dollar tuition that you pay to get in.
many of the teachers are adjuncts who are impossible to get a hold of and have online classes, despite the fact that they are present in the building.

Some of the courses are rediculously easy and you do not feel like you are being challenged.
Friendliness: A, Campus Aesthetics: F

I have gone to Canisius for 2 years and I honestly feel like I have wasted my money. You can get the exact education for a third of the price at a SUNY school. Many of the students that go here are dumb and lazy because they come from wealthy famalies. The only thing that you need to get acceped into Canisius is a high school degress because of the fact that tuition is so ridiciolus. If you spent one day here talking to some of the students you would be amazed at how easy it really is to attend this school. One of the plus sides of going to Canisius is the fact that it has such a high reputation in the Buffalo area that most of its graduates will end up with a job just because of the schools reputation. If you want a college with easy coursework for lazy yuppies then this is your schoo.

The students are friendly and outgoing, as are most professors. I have had both good and bad professors, even a few who I would never take a class with again. The honors program is difficult and teaches magnificently in the area studies, but it takes away from the major. I would have been better off not doing honors and focusing just on my major. The campus is beautiful, but they spend a ton of money on it and then complain about not having enough money. If you don't have money...forget about coming here, they will harrass you until they get your money, and once they have it will not help you. I would have been better off at a public school, if you have administrative problems at Canisius forget about getting any help from the administration.
Useful Schoolwork: A+, Surrounding City: D+
