I have enjoyed my last 2 1/2 years here at CCC. I like the location, the faculty and staff, courses offered and the Beta Beta Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. I don't particularly like the President or Intrim Vice Presdident or actually any of the Senior Staff and Administrators because they are all about what they can do for themselves. (don't ever ask for support or help!) There are however people that make this place amazing. Dr. Atkins, Ed Dougherty, Dr. Jitomer, Marvin Bunch, Dr. Richard Quest, Julie Wray, Kim Koval... I did love my time here at CCC but you can't just attend classes you need to get involved. Involved in Goverment, Phi Theta Kappa, or any other organizations.

You know why I like corning community college?
Im Andrew, im 19 years old
Dr. McCarthy (my advisor and sociology professor)
Was one of two people in the WORLD who testified when 9/11 happened and he was NYC bomb squad/undercover narcotics and a nurse and several more things. The two hardest professions are law and medicine and he has done them both.

Craig Banfield (my CJ professor and firearms)
Was a horseheads police captain and one of TWO navy SEALS who jumped in the water when Apollo 13 fell in the water.

Mark Hartwell (Evidence and Penal law professor)
D.A. in 5 states and has teached for more than 8 different colleges including (Keuka, Syracuse, Owego, MCC and several more) yet he chooses to drive 85 miles to get low pay and stay at CCC because of the students and getting to actually know them on a one on one basis and because we want to learn and he wants to make sure we know our major so we can actually get a job and not be one of those who just find the "easy" teachers just so they can skate by and get a diploma and then not be able to get a job because you don’t know anything. CCC has what many other schools don't a shooting range, forensics lab, and an accident reconstruction area.

In every college there are teachers who don't care and are only in it for the money, but at CCC most of the professors at least I have come in contact with are all about their students and making sure they are competent to get the best job they want and the professors never say you can't do something, they always say if you want it you can have it, all it takes is a lot of sweat and work.

The cost of CCC is cheap and yet you do get a great education.
The only difference between CCC and Harvard is this:

Harvard is like a couple hundred thousand more a year
Harvard's classes are like 10 times the size of CCC
Harvard's teachers don’t give a crap about their students
Harvard's teachers don’t get to know there students on a one on one basis...
CCC and Harvard's academics are the same
Only good thing about Harvard is one thing...name recognition you’re sitting next to future congressman and presidents and business men/women that is it.

At first I wasn’t so happy with CCC I wanted to go away and enjoy college life...but if you really want an education with great teachers I highly recommend CCC in criminal justice program we have one of the best.
