Clarkson Is a pretty good school all in all. Yes, it's hard. Yes, it's a little isolated. Think about it... If we had any more distractions than we already had around campus, would any of us be half as successful as we are? I wouldn't! I need the isolation so I can focus on all of the coursework in front of me. Other than that it's very intimate and everyone is very nice and accepting. Everyone is always willing to help each other out, and the campus is a pretty decent place to turn into whatever you need it to be at that particular time. Some places are relaxed, and laid back, and others are high speed and busy. The tutoring center knows what it's doing and keeps kids succeeding. Likewise, residence life does a pretty good job at keeping kids entertained despite the unfortunate surrounding that is small town. Most importantly people care. About their work, about their friends, about their responsibilities... about SOMETHING. Everyone's driven, motivated, and we are far from the typical college student, even being in a college town.

If you were considered an "over achiever" in high school, Clarkson is the university for you. At Clarkson, it is cool to be smart, and why shouldn't it be. If you work hard, ask for help when needed, and persevere, you will continue to be the "smart-kid" at college as well.

Seriously, I have no idea what some people are writing here. I have great experience at Clarkson. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, but of course if you have already a bad attitude towards everything- then everything is bad, and ugly and awful. It is up to you make out of this 4 years. It is not the Professors or the buildings- IT IS YOU!!!
