Quite Bright
I transferred to Clarkson University after finished my A.S. at a Suny school. Before comming here, I was kinda worried about it, because the strong majority of reviews here on Students Review were negative for CU. After being here for a semester, however, my opinion of the school has vastly improved.

Academically, Clarkson is badass. The work is much harder and involved then SUNY, but it's chill. People here study together and help each other, vs Cornell esq. institutions where everyone's cut throat and shallow. People here realise that teamwork and communication is essential for success, and thus many of my projects have been done in groups, leading to prevailing grades and more concrete understanding of the subject material. The teachers, for the most part, are great as well. I'm not a fan of foreign teachers, as I don't care to have to actively listen to what they are saying in order to understand, but Clarkson has a low percentage of foreign proff.'s so thats chill too. The schools small enough that you can meet your proff after class, snag a beer with him, and discuss current economic stimulus theory or western medical tradition, or whatever the fuck you care to talk about. The library here, however, is pretty weak. Everything is digital, which I suppose is a good thing, but I happen to be a fan of actually holding a text while I research it. I dunno..personal deal I guess.

Potsdam is fucking cold. End of story. The city is pretty weak too. There are a few bars, some neat little stores, some parks, and then nothing. I was worried about the social life comming here, but I have found it to be rewarding. I pledged a frat, and in one semester have met hundreds of cool people. As far as the woman situation, yeah there are like no chicks here. And the ones that are...well...theres a reason that miss usa isn't a mechanical engineer you know what i'm saying? you get beauty or brains, rarely both. However, SUNY Potsdam is right down the road, and is chuck full of hot retarded ladies. Love it.

All in all..the schools pretty badass. Ive had some great opportunities while here, and have been to plenty of baller parties. There are girls here, you just gotta put down your gay ass xbox controller and actually leave your room. The school work is fuckin tough, but don't come here with any kind of idea that you can " get by ". you gotta work for it, but when you get out you'll make bank. Clarksons job placement is like 98%. Fucking luscious.

Yes surrounding city sucks, but overall this place isn't so bad after you get through your first year. I believe they make the first year very difficult to separate the weak students from strong students.

Uninteresting location, unactive/enthusiatic student body (very hard to get them to leave their rooms), and most of the good faculty members leave after a few years
