 | Quite Bright | Let me start off by saying that this school is highly challenging, which is a good thing. The campus' scenery is beautiful. It looks perfect from the outside, without knowledge of the true inside... It's all a facade. The negative outweigh the positive. I should have listened to everyone that told me not to attend the College of Mount Saint Vincent. This school is a total waste of money. If you're payng so much money, I'm sure you would like to enjoy your college experience. This school is a complete disgrace. First off, it is like high school all over again. There are many cliques. There is gossip that lingers. It is really difficult to find friends because many of the students who attend are snobby and bougie. The college is known to have ghosts (which many people weren't told until orientation, including myself)and coyotes! The school is very disorganized. The school places random holds on your account for no apparent reason. I once had a hold on my account that kept me from registering from my classes. However, come to find out, this hold was not supposed to be there. I was kept from registering for more than a month until my academic advisor informed me that I was allowed to register. In actuality, there was no hold. I was told that I had an academic hold that prevented me from registering, by a representative in the financial office when I really didn't. This messed up my whole flow because by the time I discovered this, all of my classes that I planned on taking the next semester, were already filled with students. The school also favoritizes residents. There is hardly any respect for people who commute. On several occasions, I have been told about events that would be held at night, and I planned on going. Then when I reached the school, (which is about an hour and a half distance from my house), they were canceled or started way later than they were supposed to. What happened to e-mailing people about cancellations and delays? Where is the common courtesy? If you wish to join an extra-curricular activity, you have to be a resident. It only makes sense. All of the activities are at night, ALL OF THEM. This school is designed for residents!!! Teachers may be helpful. However, the student body are arrogant and good for nothing! They are very shady. Everything is about money, money, money! I've even had acquaintances who have told me that the college had to reimburse them for charging them fees that they were not supposed to be charged for. This school also needs a food uplift. They serve the same thing evey single day. It's always pasta, sandwhiches, pizza, and sushi. No little variety... Always the same thing. Also, the ratio of men to women is very dispoportionate. There are hardly any males in this institution! It's like a famine. Everywhere you look, female, female, female. You have to look for excitment on this campus, and the more you look, the more you are disappointed. It's way too boring. I yawn at the thought of this school. And don't let me start on the parties... OMG, never again. I went to a few of the parties here. My gosh, a 10 year old birthday party has more excitement than any of C.M.S.V. parties. The last one I went to, I promised myself that I would never go to one again. Of course, being the disorganized school that it is, the flyer said that outsiders were allowed to attend (just had to pay a fee). However, on the night of the party, the rule changed. Absolutely no outsiders were allowed. I brought outside people and they weren't allowed in because of this sudden rule change. What kind of nonsense is that? All in all, this school is an ultimate fail! I would strongly advise you NOT to attend the College of Mount Saint Vincent! I am warning you. I was warned and still went ahead. I had to lean the hard way. If you know what's good for you, attend another college. Amen. | Campus Aesthetics: B+, Education Quality: F | | | |

| | Quite Bright | im a rising sophomore nursing student at the mount. I'll start by saying I gave the mount a fair chance. The mount has screwed me over time and time again. The students here are a disgrace to society. I've been the target of mass harassment at the mount. (yes bullying in college) It started with one person, and now the entire campus is involved. I have never questioned taking my own life until I got to this piece of shit institution. Not only are the students obnoxious, immature, and undereducated, but the faculty is the same exact way. They favor (D3)athletes over students who actually do all of their work. The faculty rarely speaks english, and are overall completely unhelpful. Don't bother complaining because your complaints will always be held against you in future matters with the school. The residence life staff is the biggest disgrace to this entire institution. They are disrespectful, immature, and rude. The residence halls are disgusting, and poorly kept. Theres insects, garbage, dirt, and unidentified substances all over the place. People actually have urinated in the elevator. There was a "peeping tom" aka one of the sick fucks that goes here was taking videos of girls showering and posting them online, and no he was never caught (thanks reslife). Somebody also smeared their shit on the bathroom mirrors on a few occasions, and even went as far as to light the bathroom on fire. Forget it if theres ever a emergency, because nobody in a position of power knows what to do. When the building was lit on fire, the fire exit was locked (safe right?). I regret every penny I gave to the mount. Speaking of money, theyre awful with it! Theyll make charges on your account randomly, and wont lift the hold on your account until you pay their fictionally named charge. Yes, this happens, and yes they get away with it. I am an extremely social person, and extremely friendly....yet, I've made about 6 true friends here. This school is pathetic. You can take your chances and ignore the comments people make about it, but you will eventually regret choosing the mount. I'm doing one more semester here and transferring out. The nursing program here is definitely isn't worth my mental health deteriorating. This school took so much out of me, most of it I will never properly recover from. | Campus Aesthetics: B+, Useful Schoolwork: F | | | |

| | Quite Bright | | I was a creative writing major in High School, and knew I wanted that to remain a part of my life but not a career choice. I chose MSV based on the fact that they offered a creative writing minor, and the campus is gorgeous!! They offer a Fonthill award for a full ride if you submit the best writing essay. On top of that, they offer great academic scholarships and financial aid because they are a private/Catholic college. Some other perks that come along with that detail is that the classes are nice and small for personal attention and growth, and if you get caught doing illegal acts on campus -- its not brought to the police. The school handles it within the system! We have wi-fi and free laundry for now. There are some negatives as well. The cell phone reception in the Freshman and Sophmore dorms suck. It was depressing trying to have convos to home, and not being able to properly. Furthermore, 40% of the schools population is commuters. This makes it difficult on the weekends, because no ones in the same boat. It's all about whether or not you're going home. Considering this fact, there aren't much activities on campus during the weekend and the food seems to be worse. The campus is gorgeous all year round. I deem most departments to be available and helpful. The only one I've had problems with is the math department. None of the faculty is American, so accents are difficult to understand in class. Being a part of a solid foundation like the Sisters of Charity, whether you're religious or not, has been a great experience. The diversity on the campus is another reason I came here. It always keeps classes and social interaction interesting and fun. It also helps when finding your life long friends through clubs and organizations on campus. The people are who keep you sane, and the education is what can guide you to success. | Education Quality: A+, Social Life: C | | | |
