Cornell is a premier, fairly large, national researchBrightEconomics
Cornell is a premier, fairly large, national research university with a vast array of disciplines on the outside, but in relaity, the beauty of this place is that you can turn it into whatever you want. Sure, the kids from Long Island tend to be a bit too predictable after a time, but the beauty of this place is that it is so large, you can shape it into whatever you want it to feel like. If you want to do research all the time, you can. If you want to play frisbee on the Arts QUad all day you can. If you want to be all intelectual and culturally adept, you can. That is the beauty of Cornell. Not to mention that the profs are excellent, the geography is gorgeous, and that CORNELL HOCKEY ROCKS.

Cornell has wonderful academics.Quite BrightComputer Science
Cornell has wonderful academics. The faculty is mostly friendly and awesome. But many Cornellians came here and got discouraged, because of the competitiveness and the challenging work. As long as you remain open-minded and optimistic, this school is a great place to spend 4 years. One caveat: you might not be able to pull all the As like in high school, don't get too worked up over it.
